Just thinking about where Kyle Lowry's performance so far this season would fit within team history.

Of course, it's only been 10 games and 373 minutes for him and he may not keep this up all season for a variety of reasons (3 pt shooting cooling off, etc.), but 10 games is not that small as a sample and it's not like the Rockets played against a bunch of cupcake opponents.

In any case, while I don't think he'll keep shooting 41% from behind the arc and, thus his 24+ PER would likely drop a bit (to maybe 20-22?), his statistical productions compare rather favorably favorably to PGs on past Rockets teams:

For instance, if he keeps up the current level of production:
- His AST% (percent of teammates FGs assisted by him), 40.6, would be the highest in team history (out of players who played significant minutes).

- His PER, 24.6, would be higher than that of any Rocket not named Hakeem, Yao, or Moses, and higher than that of any other Rockets PG in the past (Steve Francis' topped out at 21.6, Calvin topped out at 20.0).

- His assist/36 minutes, 9.0, would be higher than that of any Rocket other than Art Williams, John Lucas and Sleepy Floyd.

- His REB% and DReb% would be higher than that of every Rockets PG-- the next best would be Steve Francis and Bob Sura.

As I said, I am not sure everything will stay this way-- the AST and REB numbers most likely will, his shooting will likely cool off a bit. However, there is no doubt that this guy is a legitimate talent, based on not only the 10 games this year, but also the post-All Star performance from 2011.

Where do you think he ranks among past Rockets PGs?

The Franchise. I actually think they are somewhat similar players. Lowry is a better game manager and Stevie was more athletic.

Probably best since Matt Maloney. But I doubt he ever reaches Maloney's level.

We do not have a long history of good PGs in Houston, lots of Center, and PFs but not very many top notch PGs.

He might be the best Rocket PG ever.

Aaron was never the all around player Lowry is. He could score but was never an assist guy and never got rebounds. Current Lowry is better than AB ever was.

So I say he's the best since Francis who could also rebound the ball and dish out a decent number of assists.

I understand why most on here say Stevie Francis, but realistically speaking.. Francis was more of a 2 guard who was forced to play the point. Great athleticism, but Lowry is a true point guard. He is the best point guard we have had since ...

Stevie's second year in the NBA was ridiculous.

High shooting percentages, low turnovers.

Its hard to tell right now. He has a chance to be the best. Right now I'd say he's in the top 4.
