    http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7...ladelphia-76ers-marreese-speights-sources-say

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed in principle to the terms of a three-team trade with New Orleans and Philadelphia that will bring 76ers center Marreese Speights to the Grizzlies, according to sources with knowledge of the trade.

The deal, on course to be completed later Wednesday, would send Memphis swingman Xavier Henry to the Hornets and two second-round picks to Philadelphia.

The Grizzlies were in search of added depth in the frontcourt even before star forward Zach Randolph suffered a bruised knee when teammate O.J. Mayo fell onto him in Sunday's 40-point loss in Chicago. That's because Memphis lost versatile forward Darrell Arthur, its most valued reserve, to a season-ending Achilles injury last month.

Although Randolph's injury was diagnosed only as a bone bruise, Memphis wants to move quickly in the wake of its 2-3 start. The Grizzlies have never faced higher expectations after upsetting top-seeded San Antonio in the first round of last season's playoffs before losing to Oklahoma City in the second round in seven games.

Randolph averaged 20.1 points and 12.2 rebounds last season and was averaging 19 points and nine rebounds before he was injured.

Speights is in his fourth season with the 76ers, who selected him with the 16th overall pick in the 2007 draft but has never averaged more than 16.4 minutes per game in the NBA.

Henry played in 38 games as a rookie last season in Memphis and has missed the start of this season with torn ligaments in his right ankle.

Now why the hell didn't Morey go after this guy?

Rumor has it that the NBA will veto the trade, unless the 76ers also Andre Iguodala to New Orleans.

The only player that would fit in the same price range as those 2 would be C. Lee. I'm not giving up on Lee just for Speights OR Henry.

Good job staying out of this one Morey. Stern would have wanted Lowry to NOH just to let us listen in on the trade dialogue.

Grizzlies making all the right deals lately, damn..

I would've given up 2 draft picks for a guy like Speights,
we could definitely use him right now.

Ow well, if it works out then the Grizzlies, Spurs and Mavs
finish ahead of us and we get a high draft pick.

I wasn't being sarcastic. Our drafting DOES suck. We are one of the worst drafting teams in the league. The logo brought in Rudy. We got Zach in a draft. Our best draft pick of the current regime was Mike Coney, who is fantastic and very underrated.

Had it not been for getting lucky with a few good players and deals we could be wallowing in the cellar. Oh wait.

    Grizz = win.

I don't see the incentive for NO and Phil to make this trade though.

    You're a Grizzlies fan?

    Ouch!....

And believe me I wasn't being sarcastic either, drafting sucks. You had a guy like Love on your hands and gave him away for OJ freakin Mayo, double ouch!

i made an editing mistake obviously on that. read the context and it should be clear that I was using zach as an example of how we got our good players.
