Morey got 3 out of the 4 2009 lotto busts during or after their 2nd NBA season, so is it time to play the 2010 lotto bust collection game yet?
Remember Squid was acquired well before the trade deadline- Thabeet at the deadline and Flynn on draft night.


Who are the potential 2010 draft busts to target?

My guess: Wesley Johnson and Evan Turner.

Gordon Hayward, Cole Aldrich, Xavier Henry, Larry Sanders... All the others are panning out quite nicely.

Wes Johnson and Evan turner are not busts, Evan turner will turn it around and has shown signs. You cannot compare those guys to the likes of thabeet n jhill n twill

Even though Wes is not a bust, I can see us somehow scooping him up. Rick A. loves some of our players and will over value some of them. He also is the type of guy that will acquire players to win now.

I know it's been proposed here before so it's not like it's a new thought so I'd hate to recycle the information and write it as my own.

Let's also consider the two GM's we're talking about. We're talking about Kahn V Morey. I don't want to compare FLynn to Wes but, FLynn has a better rookie year than Wes and they were willing to let FLynn (AND D-Mo - who has loads of potential himself) go for what? Miller and some picks?

Martin alone may not be enough to get Wes (in the eyes of many when comparing potential + contract value). But, when you're talking about Kahn being pushed by Rick, then I can see Wes being a Rocket by the deadline.

Both Minny's and Rockets' schedules are very tough though. Who knows what direction Morey will go after the first 10 games. We know what direction Rick wants to go.

Hayward was GOOD last year. Ridiculous lights out shooting after the All Star break, he's on the "nicely" list.

No more dumpster diving please. We have enough depth at every position. Time to play what we’ve got and hopefully cash in some of the coins for paper money soon.

Gordan Hayward has been playing well for the jazz. I wouldnt consider him a bust. Hes better than chase IMO.

There really havent been any major busts. Even Turner, while he went far too early, will still be a quality role player in the league. Only Al-Fariq Amminu and Cole Aldrich might be the only top 15 pick that might not get consistent playing time this year, and neither really excite.

Even Wesley Johnson, who hasnt quite lived up to his draft spot, is someone I see as a very similar player to Budinger who will really fit in well with Adelman in Minny. Good role player SG/SF.

Remember Squid played 22 mpg as a rookie and had a decent yr other than shooting efficiency.

Usually teams don't get sick of their picks until the 2nd season. We will see in a month or two who might become available.

I think Turner will blow up this season. Not sure he'll be a superstar but I'll think mature into a very nice player.
