I am working less than 5 minutes from the fire right now. You can feel the smoke when you step outside. Also they blocked all traffic going towards the fire so its a mess right now. I dont know how kids are getting home from Westside High School.
I hope they are taking some preventative actions for memorial park. Some assclown that throws his cigarette out of the window could catch some of that thick, dead, undergrowth ablaze.
This is exactly what I'm worried about. A cig butt, some ass playing the arson game like in Bastrop. I just bought my home and if the park is on fire we'd have 10 minutes to evacuate. Seems like half of the trees are dead over here. Why does baby Jesus hate Texas?
this may be somewhat spamming, but it's necessary. I'm a member of Trees 4 Houston (Redbuds actually, the young professional arm) and we're collecting donations via groupon to help water and maintain as many trees as possible during this historic drought. anyone who is interested please click on the link below... 100% of the proceeds goes directly to the trees. http://www.groupon.com/deals/gt-trees-for-houston thank you! i'm gonig to post this in the drought thread as well.... it's a worthy enough casue.
