Probably gonna be gone for the whole season. He doesn't have an NBA contract now, so if someone offers him a guaranteed full-season deal, economically, it makes sense for him to take it. No need for him to make himself less marketable by insisting on an NBA out at this point.

In fact, probably makes sense for him to take a multi-year deal in Europe now if he can find one.

I hope he signs a long term deal. He won't cost us anything, won't take up a spot and will be a tradable asset.

Don't think Parsons is going to amount to much in the NBA...so anything that gives him PT instead of being stuck on the bench is probably a plus.

He's only a tradeable asset if he shows he has some value overseas, right? And if he has value, wouldn't we want to be able to take advantage of that first, if necessary? And regardless, isn't it more valuable to us or a trading partner if he can actually play in the NBA sooner?

Basically, wouldn't a 1 year deal be ideal? He'll be able to show what he has, if anything, and be free to come back to the NBA the following year. While I understand the scenario where it might take him multiple years to develope until he's NBA ready, that doesn't seem to happen a ton, and usually with only marginal players at best, or throw-ins in trades.

I think 1 year of him playing overseas in a competitive league should give a solid enough look to see if he will ever be a solid NBA contributor. If not, not much of an asset.

I thought his agent said that he was only interested in signing for "an elite European team"? If his agent thinks that Cholet is "an elite European team" then

His agent is an idiot. Why would an elite team want Parsons?

This can only happen if he outplays Bud and Morris.

? Lots of things may make Parsons valuable provided he adapts to the NBA well. Scola getting traded could force Morris to play more PF, for instance.

Still not a lot of minutes with T-Will, Lee, and Martin on board.

TWill has proven less than his nothing at this point. Martin and Lee may get a few minutes at the three, but still enough for Bud's backup to be important. Especially so with the Rockets needing to trade for a center.
