I agree for the most part. I´ve always hated the Jazz and always will. After our last playoff loss to them and seeing a Jazz fan cover his eye in the return of Derek Fisher I told myself I would punch a Jazz fan in the face before I died haha. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ycn-8547501&bcmt=11503353#mwpphu-comment-11467591
There is no rivalry, only hated teams, hated because they are very hate-able. The only pro sports rivalry Houston ever had was the old Oilers-Steelers rivalry in the late 70s and early 80s.
The Spurs have never really bothered me..their fans, at least the ones I've met, are always cool when it comes to the Rockets...they don't talk a lot of smack & many consider the ROX their 2nd favorite NBA team. Never had an issue with Seattle either..always liked George Karl when he was their coach. Liked watching Gary Payton play. Here's my top 5. 1. Jazz 2. Mavs 3. Lakers 4. Bulls (only because of the "if Jordan didn't retire" crap 5. Knicks
pretty good list, 1-3 is spot on imo I really have never seen the spurs as a rival and I have never had a problem with them, but he pretty much says that
I pretty much agree with the list. Before Seattle moved to OKC, it would have been: 1. Utah 2. Lakers 3. Seattle 4. Dallas 5. San Antonio Either way, there's a huge drop off between #2 and #3.
I agree with the list except for the order. I say: 1) Jazz 2) Lakers 3) Sonics 4) Spurs 5) Mavs It seems like prior to the championship run in the 90s we always lost to the Seattle Sonics and then of course to the Jazz. You could really flip flop I think the Sonics and the Lakers in my opinion.
1) Jazz 2) Mavs 3) Lakers. Anything after that is debatable. It also shows how much Lebron screwed up this year that many Rockets fans that hate the Mavs with a passion are still hoping the heat lose to them.
hard to be rivals when the other side doesn't care. i don't think lakers fans hate the rockets or even care about the rockets. same way rockets fans don't care about the suns. even though the last generation of suns fans may have hated the rockets, i doubt the new generation cares. also, since sloan, malone, and stockton are out of utah it's hard to really hate the new guys. i mean the point was we wanted those 3 to retire without a championship and they did. i still dislike them but they aren't #1 anymore without sloan at the helm. right now its: 1. mavs 2. spurs 3. jazz
You must not deal with Spurs fans very often or notice how competitive Spurs-Rockets regular season games are.
I have never once met a die hard Spurs fan There has never been a true rivalry between the teams or the cities, they are only on the list because they are in the same state
1. jazz-stockton 3, humilating game 6 and 7 in 08 2. celtics-80 and 86 finals 3. mavs-05 first rd 4. lakers 5. spurs..i guess, no real reason we embarrased them in 94 and 95.
Your lists are terrible: 1) Jazz-poles 2) Spurs - I 10 rivalry, plus DR stole Hakeem's trophy 3) Lakers - it's old and it's good 4) Mavs - when they win they can be ranked higher 5) Celtics - we still owe them a second place finish . . 6) lately, whoever is in 8th place in the West. Sad, but true.
I do not consider the Spurs as a rival. Rockets pwned them. If anything we are their rival but they are not our rival.
