(Wasnt it part of the Pat Tillman story, that his non-theist beliefs made him too "different"? I have family in the military but didnt think the military was THAT religious dominated. I guess it makes sense from a structural standpoint of military's strict disciplined Do-It-Our-Way-All-Times approach. Submitting to leader figures, submitting to God, its all kind "faith based" in a sense. Muslim groups being allowed to congregate might seem more a "conflict of interest" than secular groups (not that one is worse or better than other), just my opinion. If for no other reason than to let soldiers of similar interests not feel isolated, this is a good thing if it goes through.
