Pretty cool site gives you the shortest connection between two players in NBA history, with links defined as teammates.

For example, the closest link between Russell Westbrook and Jerry West:
Quote:
Russell Westbrook 2008-09 Oklahoma City Thunder Joe Smith
Joe Smith 1995-96 Golden State Warriors Chris Mullin
Chris Mullin 1987-88 Golden State Warriors Kermit Washington
Kermit Washington 1973-74 Los Angeles Lakers Jerry West
Hasheem Thabeet and Joe Barry Carroll:
Quote:
Hasheem Thabeet 2009-10 Memphis Grizzlies Zach Randolph
Zach Randolph 2001-02 Portland Trail Blazers Chris Dudley
Chris Dudley 1989-90 New Jersey Nets Joe Barry Carroll
Darko Milicic and Wilt Chamberlain:
Quote:
Darko Milicic 2003-04 Detroit Pistons Elden Campbell
Elden Campbell 1990-91 Los Angeles Lakers Mychal Thompson
Mychal Thompson 1978-79 Portland Trail Blazers Jim McMillian
Jim McMillian 1970-71 Los Angeles Lakers Wilt Chamberlain
Have fun!

I have beaten the system! SEVEN degrees of separation between Patrick Patterson and George Mikan.

Patrick Patterson 2010-11 Houston Rockets Aaron Brooks
Aaron Brooks 2007-08 Houston Rockets Dikembe Mutombo
Dikembe Mutombo 1991-92 Denver Nuggets Scott Hastings
Scott Hastings 1982-83 New York Knickerbockers Paul Westphal
Paul Westphal 1972-73 Boston Celtics John Havlicek
John Havlicek 1962-63 Boston Celtics Clyde Lovellette
Clyde Lovellette 1953-54 Minneapolis Lakers George Mikan

Welp, looks like $1 to the tip jar for every win over 32 they get. Seems like fair penance for my lack of faith.

Great link OP.

Here's some interesting data from their blog:

Eddie House currently has the most connections since he has been on the highest number of teams and played with the greatest number of players.

Also, inspired by gwatson86, I found an 8th degree connection.

Patrick Patterson 2010-11 Houston Rockets Aaron Brooks
Aaron Brooks 2007-08 Houston Rockets Dikembe Mutombo
Dikembe Mutombo 1991-92 Denver Nuggets Walter Davis
Walter Davis 1977-78 Phoenix Suns Dennis Awtrey
Dennis Awtrey 1972-73 Chicago Bulls Chet Walker
Chet Walker 1963-64 Philadelphia 76ers Dolph Schayes
Dolph Schayes 1953-54 Syracuse Nationals Mike Novak
Mike Novak 1949-50 Philadelphia Warriors Al Guokas

Doesn't make sense. Omer just posted their blog which says that the number of degrees between Pattrick Patterson and Al Guokas is 5.4 but then when you go try it yourself, it's shows 8 degrees.

Just beat the system. Demarcus Cousins and Sweetwater Clifton have no connection.

They tried to blitz me on pick and rolls, but I was able to get around the big guys and I was fortunate enough to find my guys in the right spots and they were knocking down shots. When it's rolling like that, I don't have to score that many points." - Tracy McGrady, 04-13-2005

5.4 is their average fo Al not the number of degrees between them (look at chart again and scroll to the right)

Could be because his name is Richard and not Rip.

The system found the following link-

Patrick Patterson 2010-11 Houston Rockets Shane Battier
Shane Battier 2005-06 Memphis Grizzlies Chucky Atkins
Chucky Atkins 2002-03 Detroit Pistons Richard Hamilton

Tipjar bet with DonnyMost: I will commit $10 to the tip jar if the 9ers have a worse record than the Broncos (tie is a push). If Peyton misses starts due to neck injury, bet is off.
