Jordan is one of the poorest owners in the NBA, isn't he? Maybe he just wanted to cut costs, knowing that his team wasn't winning a championship anyway.
This would not be the year you want to tank in...I think Jordan is trying to save money knowing that as they are constructed - their best hope is as an 8th seed who is likely going to be swept. Jordan has a history of poor decisions, but I think this is probably a better long term strategy he has.
Tanking will do nothing for them. You can count on another Kwame Brown, Adam Morrison selection Bobcats' Jordan defends trade, reassures Przybilla
since when they were good to get worse, there were facing first round exit if they made the playoffs.
Whether you agree with tanking or not, it's understandable. The Bobcats have nothing to gain by being the 8th seed. Dumping Wallace and his big salary makes sure they get to play the lottery and have a lot more money (possibly to spend) for next season.
