Celtics, Rockets discuss Shane Battier trade

1st rounder for us

 

Man you guys are fast. I thought I was finally gonna be able to post a new rumor for like the first time ever.

 

I wouldn't mind moving Battier to the Celtics. He definitely deserves to be on a championship contender.

 

If it's for low first rounder, my guess is its apart of a bigger eal.

 

Kendrick Perkins or no deal.

Battier needs a chance to win it all.

Unless it's part of a larger trade this sucks for us. We need Battiers contract for another deal.

 

What?? Battier is one of our best players, I absolutely don't trade him for a very late 1st round pick.

Shane deserves to play for a contender but why would Houston want SHAQ???

Well let's see:

He's 33 already and his contract expires at the end of this year.

So basically the ONLY reason for anyone to trade for him is to 'win now'. They are in no way guaranteed his services beyond this season!

For us, we may well lose him in the summer as a FA (going to a contender) - so why the heck would we not take a late FIRST ROUND draft pick for him?

ugh..im not liking this at all...Celtics with battier would be such a sick team..i dont know what we want from them though. it's not like they have young talents with lots of upside. if it's for a draft pick it's gonna be a weak one unless celtics have somebody else's draft pick.

 

Good team for shane. I would take a 1st rounder.

 

I don't know what Boston could send the Rockets that would be worth it for Houston player-wise. Aside from their top 4 players, only Perkins and Davis are the only players that I would want in return and even then the salaries wouldn't match unless BOTH players are sent to Houston.
