With the trade deadline looming I was wondering who generally has the most reliable information? I know Woj on twitter (@wojyahoonba) is usually spot on but who else? Who should we not touch with a 10-foot pole? I know realgm.com is considered pretty bad too. Supposedly teams sometimes give out misinformation so I know it can be difficult to parse out the good from the bad so who is up to snuff in Rockets/NBA news, besides us here at clutchfans?
Not to kiss anyones arse but clutch dropped a couple of nuggets. Right now with all the misinformation, he's the only one I trust until I see Wojo drop something. Wojo is to the national scene as Berman is to the local scene, money.
I think we should ban hoopsworld. they are proven that they are unreliable and the fact that they are being posted here makes me
Chris Mannix, Marc Spears and Ken Berg along with Wojo are my favorite sources to follow. Marc Stein and Ric Bucher are good also but I do not completely trust them. Broussard and Steven A Smith like to throw stuff up against the wall and see what sticks to often. Clutchfans, of course, is #1...
Clutchfans is a great community because usually any breaking news is posted here first. Should you find the urge to beat the crowd, twitter is the social-networking site that has completely revolutonized news stories. Breaking news is now tweeted before anything else. As far as people to follow for Rockets news and rumors, I've compiled this list. Anyone can feel free to add someone I missed:
Hoopsworld and Bleacher Report were at one time. I wouldnt mind that again. Edit: Looks like LTF pretty much hit them all Anyhow, a few guys below. Follow each at your own risk @KBerg_CBS(Ken Berger - CBS Sports) @daldridgetnt(David Aldridge of NBATV/TNT) @Chris_Broussard(ESPN's Chris Broussard) @Jonathan_Feigen(Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen) @ChrisMannixSI(Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated) @SI_ChrisBallard(Chris Ballard of Sports Illustrated) @SI_IanThomsen(Ian Thomsen of Sports Illustrated) @Christomasson(Chris Tomasson of FanHouse) @SamickAOL(Sam Amick of FanHouse) @ChadFordInsider(ESPN's Chad Ford) @STEIN_LINE_HQ(ESPN's Marc Stein) @SpearsNBAYahoo(Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports) @WojYahooNBA(Adrian Wojnowarski of Yahoo! Sports) @CSheridanESPN(ESPN's Chris Sheridan - although I believe he is NY primarily) @RicBucher(ESPN's Ric Bucher) And of course @Clutchfans
Solid list. I follow just about all of them. Honestly, for my money @WojYahooNBA(Adrian Wojnowarski of Yahoo! Sports) is absolute nails. Dude has so many contacts. I bet he breaks 75% of the trades when they happen. Woj is the man!
Ya, I don't really trust Broussard but I like Bucher - plus he actually responds to tweets directed towards him and seems to enjoy chatting about the NBA.
Less than a month outside the trade deadline? No one, unless they end with: book it, you heard it here first or tip jar. Oh wait, no one. Just no one. SPLASH!
Well he was spot on with the whole LeBron thing last summer, and he's been on top of every thing with melee also
