He deserves to be traded. He deserves a ring. One of those things where you let your gf go cuz you know in your heart she can do better and you are holding her back....... No eff that I hope he retires a rocket :-D

As a Rockets' fan, I'm in agony right now. If we rebuild then he should stay, exceptional teacher and fantastic BBIQ but If we reload, then he can go or be traded to bring in what we need to contend.

 

And Shane is one of those players, no one is an untouchable, so make up your mind.

 

This isn't about me, this about you and your indecisions. You want Morey to do something, but please spare Shane. Perfect worlds don't exist in mediocre teams.

Not that I want Shane traded either, but I just found your thread and sig amusing.

 

By Battier do you mean Battier or Chuck Hayes?

 

Shane's one of the likeliest players to be dealt in the coming weeks, IMO.

Contenders will covet Shane for his experience and defense. I would love for Morey to swing a deal with OKC for Cole Aldrich.

 

This. Chuck Hayes is the most consistent player on the team and is a guy I'd like to see retire a Rocket. He's our best post defender and is one of the best undersized posts in the league. His story is great, going from undrafted to starter in just a few years. Chuck Hayes needs to stay.

As far as Battier goes, I'm torn. I love what he's done for this basketball team, but he definitely deserves to be on a championship caliber team. I'd love to see him retire a Rocket (and rock that Red blazer as a coach someday), but he won't get a chance at the title in Houston the way things are going right now.

 

Shane would make a good coach...

 

This feeling is utterly foreign to me... No girl could do any better than me.

 

Buy him out or let him expire.. then put him on the staff.

 

If be retire you mean we trade him for a player that is actually still worth a damn consistently on the court, have him retire, and then sign him a few weeks later, then sure go ahead! Bud has been here for over a year and he has learned nothing from Battier aside from missing open looks. I have lost hope in players actually learning anything from him anymore.
