He seemed to be able to pick up his game offensively...however he was owned by Gary Forbes who scored 7 points in 5 minutes. Now that we have T-Will on his ass for playing time, what should we do? Is his future in Houston Dim? Does he expect his ass to be traded soon?

Trade him straight up for Carmelo Anthony.

In my opinion Chase Budinger is only playing just to "show off" his skills to trade partners. By the end of the season he probably won't be in a Rocket's jersey.

Though I really like him I don't see how he would not be traded. I think any trading partner is interested in his potential and would want him included in a package. He is expendable being that we are so deep at the 2/3 positions.

Morey has mentioned that they evaluate how a player reacts to adversity. While Budinger's shooting is now back to form(to me it was never the problem), the pathetic manner in which he handled his slump tells us he cannot be counted upon in the long run. When a challenge presents itself you meet it head on, not cower into the fetal position and let it affect all facets of your game like how it did for Budinger.

This is why fortunately he is building his value back now so he can be included in a deal to open up the log jam at the wings. Same can be said for Hill, although his value seems to be declining by the game. Potentially the same for AB, although the way he is playing right now, it might be better to just sign him to a dirt cheap deal.

I hate thinking this about any of the active players, but I'm ready for Budinger to be traded. I love what the guy can bring to the offense, like last night vs. Denver, but it's not enough to compensate for the fact that he's a liability on the defensive end.

He'll improve some, but not enough to be a reliable piece in a contender's puzzle. Sorry Bud.

Do you think Kmart can be a reliable piece?

K-Mart would be one amazing secondary scorer if you paired him up with a superstar who is willing to share the ball.

The guy has a knack for drawing fouls and is amazing at moving without the ball.

Yeah I do. Martin's working through knee problems right now, but overall he's not near as big a defensive liability as Budinger. And as a scorer, he's on another level from Chase.

Plus, maybe it's due to our team's makeup, but it seems easier to compensate defensively on the backcourt than the frontcourt. We've got guys like Lowry, Lee, Battier and now Williams who can take on the tougher defensive assignments from Martin.

Outside of small-ball situations, Budinger has no one who can help him on D: so he gets beat by the quicker, smaller forwards, and gets outmuscled by the bigger, more athletic SFs.

I think KMart is just as bad on D as CBud....but is clearly better on O....

I don't think it's close at all. Budinger has reached Steve Novak level for me.

Martin's not great but can play well enough if he tries. Plus, the backcourt's built to compensate for him.

And when DD declared he is on the Hill bandwagon, Hill went into a slump.
