What is the most lop sided individual match up both in favor for the Rockets and in favor of the opposition. Here are the two that I remember the most.

Shaq vs. Kenny, January 19, 2001
41 pts to 7pts

I remember when this game happened and Kenny Thomas had to match up with Shaq in his prime. Poor Kenny was all anyone could think. Kenny was undersized as a power forward and was going against the biggest and most powerful center in the league. It was total domination by Shaq.

Dream vs. The Admiral, May 22, 1995 – June 1, 1995
Avg for 6 games in WCF 34 pts to 23 pts

This may not have been the biggest mismatch as far as numbers go but David Robinson was put in possibly in the worst situation of any NBA player of all time. Hakeem was always the better player and anyone with any since knew that Dream should have won the NBA MVP trophy that year. Instead Dream watched from across the court as Robinson was presented the trophy that should have gone to Dream. If Hakeem did not have a chip on his shoulder during this series with something to prove to Robinson and the whole NBA he certainly played like he did. His domination of Robinson was so complete that all Robinson could do during the post game press conferences was just shrug his shoulder and admit that he had never seen anyone play like that.

I think if he would have made those free throws, the Kobe/Shaq era never would have happened.

He did, indeed, have a chip on his shoulder. Marie Elie on Hakeem:
Quote:
Elie: "I love Tim. I think he may be the second best player I played with but 'Dream,' just his performance in pressure situations—when David Robinson got the '95 MVP, 'Dream' told me, 'Mario, he’s borrowing my trophy.' When I heard that I said, 'Somebody’s in trouble tonight.' http://20secondtimeout.blogspot.com/...-olajuwon.html
Lol. I love it.

Do you remember the first game? JVG shocked the world by starting Bowen to guard Dirk.. and he actually defended him pretty damn well. The rest of the series, well..

But McGrady only failed the match up only once. Ariza did it more than any player on the Rockets in the one season he was here.
