Temple was released today by the spurs

given the Rockets instability at point guard right now would the Rockets try to being him back?

Smith has played well considering he is an undrafted rookie
Lowry is still not 100% and can be out the next game who knows really with his back?
and Brooks of course gone for at least a month

Last season when Temple came in I thought he did a much better job at the backup point than the other PG that got the 10 day contracts (why i cant remember his name right now not sure)

    just a thought

He played well here, and he was good for San Antonio, but they picked up two young gems in Anderson and Neal.

yes thank you I knew it started with a W couldnt remember his name

yeah I was much more impressed with Temple last season than I was with Conroy

I Think it would help to bring in a guy that is already somewhat familiar with the system and some of the players on the team of course

Which D-League team has his exclusive free agent rights? The Austin Toros (San Antonio's affiliate, because Temple was in training camp with SA this season)? Or the RGV Vipers (because he played for them last season)?

Honestly, this could sway whether Temple ends up getting a call-up to either the Spurs or the Rockets later in the season.

I would take Garrett Temple over Jermaine Taylor any day of the week. Temple isn't the scorer Taylor is but he is better at everything else. He can play multiple postions, very good defense, and has upside. I don't understand why the Spurs waived him but kept Chris Quinn.

Temple is a good defensive guard. We need defense in the backcourt. I'd definitely prefer him over Taylor at this point.

He does have size that would be nice, but until AB is gone or Lowry I would hold off.

I prefer him over Ish, the problem is that he was logging minutes wiyth the Spurs last year and after he suffered an injury in the SL he never got to play again.
Not sure if it is because of Anderson and Neal, or because his game regressed.

It's a curious move on the Spurs part. They only have 13 players on the roster and James Anderson has a stress fracture in his right foot and is expected to miss about eight weeks.

bad day for spurs fans :( ...temple gets released, don't know what happened to him was playing so well last year, then he got injured, and after that everytime he stepped on the court this year he sucked. I guess he truly isn't a 6'5 point guard. Rather take his ass over chris quinn..dude is a scrub.

James Anderson gets hurt     .Kid was playing so good and shooting lights out. Kinda was a random injury and will be out the next 2 months. Spurs need a small foward now, Alanzo Gee is aight but defintley not that great.

    Thanks, man.

I thought that was the case. Just like how Sioux Falls had the rights to Alexander Johnson.
