"Sleeper alert! With Aaron Brooks out at least two weeks with a sprained ankle and Kyle Lowry nursing back spasms, the undrafted rookie out of Wake Forest is being thrown into the fire. And playing quite well after two games. Sunday, in his first start, the speedy Smith had seven points and six assists to help Houston to its first win. That followed an 11-point, seven assist game Saturday after Brooks left with the injury. If injuries continue to linger in Houston, this could be the feel-good story of the rookie class."

    Look out, Griffin ;)

Its good that the rookie Ishmeal Smith is getting some recognition, if he keep's this up he can possibly make it to the Rookie/Sophomore game.
    ....
On a side note: It kind of bums me out that all the other lottery picks are receiving playing time while we have ours stuck in the bench playing behind Chuck Hayes and Jared Jeffries... ugh.. I mean seriously Jared Jeffries!!!!.. SMH

He will in time. I like the comparison Bill uses with Avery Johnson, who became a pretty clutch shooter towards the end of his career. Avery was an even worse shooter.

Luckily for us and Smith, shooting is easier to work on then making the right pass or other great qualities which he has.

You can't teach court vision, but you can become a better shooter.

Kobe and McGrady were both incredibly raw talents when they joined the league, and they had the ugliest stroke. It took time before they developed a decent and reliable shooting stroke.

We could trade Lowry. Brooks and Ish coming off the bench... opposing teams pg's would be way to tired to run any offense after chasing those two around all night.

    Ish must stay!!!

We cannot trade Lowry for until next since we matched Cav's offer sheet. The only PG's we can trade are Ish and AB. Our only players that can be used as trade bait are Scola, Martin, and AB. Rockets would be fools to let go of Scola and Martin is a much more efficient and complete scorer than AB. This is why most of us believe that if someone needs to go, it would and should be AB.

Off topic but Adelman seems to know how to coach young point guards, how to handle their mistakes while giving them room to grow. Maybe because IIRC Adelman was a point guard himself back in the day.

Only two games has have been played with any Ish Smith involvement and he was a big contributor to the the win against the Timberwolves. but cmon guys. Its the Timberwolves...Brooks has been there for us all last year and everyone fell in love with the Mcgrady & Yao-less team with Brooks leading the team to a 42-40 season. Ish is awesome but Brooks deserves to be supported by the Rocket fans
