This is a crazy idea. Conserve Battier for tough assignments off the bench, and this will give Ish a opening as our back up PG. Budinger, Lee, and Ish can be on the second unit, with Battier as the defensive specialist...or trade him for a bag of potato chips for all I care.

Every athletic NBA Caliber SF will destroy Martin and Kevin'll have high injury possibiltiy in every collision. wow, that's really what we need

We should bench Yao for Brad Miller.

    Yea....Battier is the answer!
    /sarcasm

Though Martin is undersized, he can't be any worse than Battier. I don't know if you watch any games or not, but Martin is the most physical player we have, always drawing fouls and getting in the paint. I fail to see how how "injury possibility" would increase.

Having Martin at the SF defensively is like having no one there defensively

That would work as well...Yao could be the secret weapon off the bench. Play him his 24, but play mind games with the opposing coach as to when he will come in the game

sure we can start Martin at sf.....if we were Golden State! No way Martin can play or guard the 3. Could you imagine Martin trying to guard the likes of Carmelo?

No, this is a terrible idea. It matches Lowry up on the other teams best perimeter (and often best overall) player. That may work on someone like NO and Chris Paul, but not against many other teams.

Now you could say Lowry/Lee/Martin, and you would have a better argument.

That's not about his height. Come on, his weight is 185 lbs. For example, Lebron weight is 250, Paul Pierce 235, T-Mac 223, even Durant has 230. The train is comiiiiiiiiin'!!!!!!

    ..........................................
Are you suggesting Kevin Martin is a better defender than Battier?

In last few weeks there are so much messages about Battier "terrible D", that you can name yourself better than Battier on D and no one will make the complain. Some on Clutchfans are that bad nowadays

A not so cleverly disguised trade battier thread. After his best game of the year?

    Broken brain is broken.

Or AB could just be moved to backup SG (aka 6th man)
