If you took just the DNA molecules of every human on earth and stretched them out it would wrap around the universe many times over.

If only physics class had some catchy hymns and a good backstory.

Not sure what your level of physics education is but I have yet to see a theorem disprove creationism.

also not sure why you have to take a shot at religion in a science thread.

Feels good, seems true enough. Good job creating and imposing rules out of thin air, don't know where I've seen that before.

What rules did I impose on you?

Telling people what they should be talking about in general discussion threads.

Did anyone else read the title as "Scola of the Universe"?

I didn't tell you what you could talk about, certainly did not bring up any rules (i am not DaDakota) was just curious why you took a shot at religion in a science thread.

Most rocks when thrown will probably work out in a similar manner. I own a few guns that would be better, but if comes down to it I will just pray to Schrödinger because he kills "cats" with math.

The thing that freaks me out more than the large scale is the small scale. Most people are familiar with relative size and shape of certain molecules and it shows the scale of that compared to quarks.

Ok, apparently I'm too dumb to know what a "quark" is. Is this supposed to be common knowledge?

BTW, thanks for the link dmc89. It was cool looking through that. I need to buy some current books on physics/astronomy. I used to devour this stuff when I was in junior high and high school. Nowadays all I do is read boring crap. lol.

Not dumb at all. Quarks are the components that build neutrons and protons in the nucleus of an atom.

We used to think protons were pretty fundamental particles, but you need three quarks to build one.

Overall, it's believed there are six types of quarks, and you can mix and match them to build all of the heavy chunks of matter we've ever seen.
