Does anybody think that there is a natural limit to how many titles one team can win before a team must break up. I mean, let's say we win the championship 10 years in a row. Do you think the comets will get bored of winning and break up? I wonder. I also wonder if men and women are different. In the NBA you have a salary factor. For example, a winning team will demand more money and that forces the owner to break up the team. But in WNBA the teams won't be facing the same salary demands and the owners might be inclined to keep them together longer. Also, what about the basic pschological make-up of women versus men. Is their a need for a competitive enviroment? I am just wondering how long we can keep this steam engine rolling. I hope 20 years, but boy, can it last that long. We clearly have the best team again. And Van chance has kept it together so far.

the Boston Celtics dominated in the early days of the NBA, and the league has given them dynasty status. i don't see what the comets are doing as that much different.

i agree that we probably will struggle when Cooper retires but, Sheryl is just 28 years old. from comments made by Chery Miller in the first season that she ( Miller ) wished that Cynthia had played like she is now back then...i think Sheryl ( Swoopes ) has time to develope that killer instint. and it just may conenciede with Cooper retirement

The draft system is designed to help counter this. You are right, eventually, players like Cooper and Swoopes have to retire, and before that the up-and-comers will be nipping at their heels. Free agency helps, but it can only carry you so far.

The league should get a lot more diverse as it builds the number of teams. It will get more compeditive, the draft won't cycle through as quickly (leaving 1 or 2 good picks), and Free Agents will have more options.

When Cooper retires, Houston will become -just- another contending team. There's a player in camp that the coaching staff has described as "the most athletic player that's ever been on the team." Maybe she will become the next impact player. Vlademoro, if she can control her game, may be another impact player. How ever you look at it, it's going to be hard to replace Cooper.

(On a side note, I do not think Swoopes will be able to carry the team, especially in clutch situations, the way Cooper has the past three seasons.)

I think Houston has legitimate competition this year from Sacramento, Phoenix, and LA.
