http://www.suntimes.com/business/savage/2464546,CST-NWS-savage05.savagearticle I thought this was an article from the onion at first. I have nothing to say but only certain right-wing talk show hosts can adequately evoke this kind of heated exaggeration, suspiciousness, and conspiratorial fantasy AND have their followers lap it up. What else can they attack? Clearly they have no dignity or sense of compassion, I just want to know how low is the depth of their inhumanity.
What a dumb analogy. I wonder if she's of the racist wingnut Savage clan. If so, that would be funny. Michael Savage's hopelessly homophobic son is the CEO of Rock Star energy drinks, which were given away for free at SXSW this year. Oh, those Savages!
I liked how she wouldn't even get out of the car but instead yelled from the backseat at the kids. Can you picture this scene? Those girls are sitting on their lawn and a car from the curb has the window roll down and some b**** hangs out the window "HEY, KIDS, THAT'S NOT HOW THE FREE MARKET WORKS BLAH BLAH BLAH BOO HOO HOO." You know who understands markets, drug dealers.
Lmfao. Since when do people complain when things are free? There are millions of Americans out there that will stampede each other over free stuff, and this guy...
HOW DARE PEOPLE DO NICE THINGS FOR EACH OTHER WITHOUT EXPECTING COMPENSATION OR REWARD. RABBLE RABBLE.
That's true. When I ran the Bay To Breakers two years ago they were giving it for free. I took a can and drank some, I had never had it before, not realizing it was carbonated (and didn't taste very good) after running about a hundred feet puked it back up.
The moral of the story, according to Cory Doctorow [rquoter] Get that, kids? The correct thing to do with the stuff you appropriate from others is sell it, not give it away! Sounds about right -- companies take over our public aquifers and sell us the water they pump out of them; telcos get our rights of way for their infrastructure, then insist that they be able to tier their pricing without regard to the public interest. Corporatism in a nutshell, really. [/rquoter]
Did she just assume the parents weren't OK with it? Like the kids went behind their back to cut up the lemons they had in the fridge. Savage didn't seem to care. What if the parents gladly let the kids use things they bought to make lemonade to give away for free?
