I was in San Antonio two months ago and was asked unsolicited by Trevor Ariza via Twitter to “name ‘em” after I’d made a comment from my KevinDing Twitter account that Ron Artest was better than Ariza “in so many ways.”
(My response: “Hey, Trev. My opinion? At this pt in your career, Ron has edges in 1-on-1 D, team D, rebounding, passing, some aspects of shooting.)
Ariza spoke up Thursday night via Twitter again when Daniel Artest, Ron’s brother, had Tweeted strong comments about Ron Artest being a better player than Ariza, whom the Lakers let go after last season and replaced with Artest.
You can check their respective Twitter timelines (Daniel Artest’s and Ariza’s) for the full conversation, but Ariza was annoyed in the same way as two months ago with me at ongoing comparisons between the players. This, however, was a little personal — with one of the first, strong statements Ariza wrote to Daniel Artest was: “what r u doing with ur life.”
Daniel Artest had Tweeted about Ariza: “Yea. He has the ring. But what else besides being a role player has he done? I mean. Ron was on All def teams, 3rd team all NBA. When he was 24(ariza age now) No disrespect but TA hasn’t sniffed Ron career. Yes. TA did play a great role in helpn LA win a chip but I don’t think he’ll ever be on Ron level as far as being the man. … Let’s be honest. LA stumbled into the playoffs. I believe that LA with TA3 wouldn’t have gotten out the first round. KD wouldve went off.”
“Let me do me Im trying to get better Ron is a great player,” Ariza later Tweeted to Daniel Artest. “love his game but I don’t compare what I do to what he did at my age sorry brotha.”
Kevin Durant, who was the “KD” cited by Daniel Artest, wound up speaking up to Ariza from Durant’s Twitter account: “thas ron artest brother right?? he always tryna be sports analyst… lol he never stepped foot in between the lines…his brother nice but damn its other nice hoopers out here too”
Ariza wrote later about Twitter: “Ppl are so tough on here boy ill tell u.” But his conversation with Daniel Artest ended amicably enough — Artest writing to him: “I like stuff u say I just wanted to ask a question.”

Well that exchange was certainly enlightening. I already knew from watching him play that Ariza was dumber than a mountain goat, so this is just confirmation.

I added a few athletes on twitter back when I first signed up but now I've un-followed nearly all of them because they are either uninteresting or just kind of stupid.

Professional Athletes really should stay off the internet, this is a place for nerds with nothing that could even remotely be considered a life, soulless individuals who find no glory in the real world, but can take solace in the fact that at least they aren't n00bs with poor grammar and questionable sentence structure.

The internet has gone mainstream and soon the jocks and meatheads will find out quickly they are not welcome in the abysses of 4chan and their ilk where the nerds abide by a strict code of conduct and champion mayhem and ridicule above all else, for it is all they have faced (or continue to face) throughout their acne-filled existences.

When you're a celebrity, people are gonna talk about you. The good ones rise above it, don't listen, and don't let it effect their life or their livelihood.

To tell the truth, I think if I were making the salary of even the lowest paid NBA player, I'd be laughing when someone runs their mouth about me! Cause I'd be making way more money than the average person, and most likely doing what I love!

I know Trevor's twitter game is going to really improve once he has Yao and another superstar around him to make tweeting easier for him so he can tweet the twitter the way he did in LA.

i hate how posters on this forum love to exaggerate a thread title. There was NO feud in those twitter posts. It was more like "Twitter Discussion" not Twitter Feud. And yes that is no news at all since twitter was designed for having quick discussions.
