That's exactly who I want the Rockets to draft. I wouldn't mind Cousins, Turner, or Favors though
Doubt Minny picks up Wes. He won't fit there team. Both him & brewer can't create. I like Ekpe though!
Udoh is no doubt in my mind a top 10 pick.. We'd have to trade up to get him. However, if we stay at 14 I could see Morey selecting Alabi over Whiteside. I think whiteside will be a late 1st round pick.. He's a bit overhyped.
I agree, I think Minny will trade down maybe even with the rocks and select Xavier Henry. They should start the 6'9 SG/SF Brewer at the 3.
Doesn't matter if Minny needs perimeter scoring, there is no way they pick Wesley Johnson over Cousins. Cousins has the potential to be a franchise player.
In this draft, i see a ton of role players and starters but only 3 players with superstar potential. John Wall Evan Turner Xavier Henry The thing is, people put to much into what could be into what is. Cousins is nothing more than a big body who uses his size and strength to grab boards and go back up strong and drawing contact. While that is good to have a player like that, I don't think he wants to be that player, he isn't receptive to coaching at all, he tuned out Calipari 75% of the time and did his own thing, got into foul trouble and sat on the bench. When he is in the game, no doubt he is a force. But I think you are underrating Johnson quite a bit. The guy is coachable, has great range on his shot and hustles. They got corner stone players in Love and Jefferson, they don't need depth at in the post like they do at the guard spots.
What makes you think so highly of Henry? I like him too,and want him at the 14th instead of Whiteside, but I don't see him as a Paul Pierce(#10 pick).
Xavier Henry is like Chase without any explosive athleticism and even worse defense. He and James Anderson are interchangable in my opinion, although James is more adapt at using screens and shooting off them and neither are really good athletes by NBA standards.
I'm sorry, but I can't help but notice how you highlighted a lot of Cousins negatives, while down playing a lot of is positives by saying "Cousins is nothing more than a big body"... But with that said here's a couple of things you forgot to mention: His post skills, nimbleness, 3-point range, footwork, great hands, ability to establish position, ability to put the ball on the floor, mid-range game, shot blocking presence, rebounding, efficiency, and his overall high skill level... while still only being "19yrs old" But with that said, overall I like your mock draft, however I do disagree on a couple of things One: Orton, I expect him to go much higher, I read somewhere that Toronto is already in loved with his physical presence to put next to Bargnani(PF) at the center position. Two: Can you please explain to me how Motiejunas is remotely similar to Okur. Three: Turner is nowhere even close to Hills explosiveness in his prime. Four: Also IMO there are a lot more star "potential" players in this draft, than what you posted... --RB
