The NBA Draft Lottery airs tonight on ESPN at 7pm Central time. Pre-Draft Show is at 6:30pm Central.

Not much suspense for us Rockets fans -- we'll know right off the bat when they announce the 14th pick. Here is the order of worst to best, with the percentage odds they will land the #1 pick:

    1. New Jersey Nets (25%)
    2. Minnesota Timberwolves (19.9%)
    3. Sacramento Kings (15.6%)
    4. Golden State Warriors (10.4%)
    5. Washington Wizards (10.3%)
    6. Philadelphia 76ers (5.3%)
    7. Detroit Pistons (5.3%)
    8. Los Angeles Clippers (2.2%)
    9. Utah Jazz (2.2%)
    10. Indiana Pacers (1.1%)
    11. New Orleans Hornets (0.8%)
    12. Memphis Grizzlies (0.7%)
    13. Toronto Raptors (0.6%)
    14. Houston Rockets (0.5%)

I don't usually follow the draft lottery, because the Rockets are usually not in it :p

Buut, is how they are doing it this year different? With the lottery only affecting the top 3 spots? Is this new for this year or even recent?

And we'll all be crossing our fingers to hear the words...

'And the 14th pick goes to the Toronto Raptors'

Who is going immediately turn the channel / close out the browser window if they hear that the Rockets will have the 14th pick in the draft?

It's been that way. I'm not sure if that's how it's been since the inception of the draft lottery (1985), but that's how it's been lately.

Of course, for teams other than the Rockets, their position can change for the worse if a team behind them wins the lottery. For instance, the Golden State Warriors (4th worst) could end up picking anywhere from 1st to 7th.

I just played around with the lottery generator for the first time and we landed the #2 overall pick on one try! Perhaps a sign of what's to come? :)

If the T-Wolves get the no.1 pick. Do they have to draft John Wall? They're going to have to make some kind of move if they do get the no.1 overall. I'm hoping they get the pick.

I don't know if I would go with Evan Turner then, since we already have Martin.

I'd rather go with Derrick Favors.

    Brooks / Lowry
    Martin / Budinger
    Ariza / Battier
    Scola / Hill
    Yao / Favors

    10 man rotation is stacked.

Even if the Rockets are stuck with the 14th pick (most likely), I'll still be watching. Its interesting to see where John Wall and Turner will likely be heading. Plus I gotta root on my Timberwolves.

    I'm praying for #1, 2, 3...

We have 1.789% chance of winning #1, 2, or 3.
