http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2010/news/story?id=5162380 Suns pendering to Latinos! Oh noes!
i hope Los Suns are OUTRAGED! that some would take advantage of this issue to make terrorist threats.
The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female party guests; we did. (winks) But you can't hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few sick, perverted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole fraternity system? And if the whole fraternity system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Greg! Isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do what you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you bad-mouth the United States of America! Gentlemen!
Is not a meme of the tea party to TAKE BACK the white majority in America? I think there are a lot of similarities
Los Suns? What does that even mean? Shouldn't it be Los Soles? If the Suns are still playing on Victoria Day, will they wear "Suns, eh?" on their jerseys for Nash?
But... you said it was the tea party doing it. They're not the tea party. They don't claim to be the tea party. Neither does the story. They may both have racists, but that doesn't prove anything in regards to your claim. They probably both drink water and breathe air too, still doesn't mean anything. This reminds me of thumbs posting a story about a random building on fire in Arizona as proof that illegal immigration protestors were being violent. Weak sauce.
No need to make up stuff. The Tea party is ripe for criticism and satire without that. Let basso, thumbs, and OddsOn handle the lying around here.
Love the idea of an owner and athlete not afraid to take a stand, so rare these days. That being said, Steve Nash is completely ignorant of the law and portrays the people of AZ in a very poor light. The law does nothing more than make a federal crime a state crime, and it expressly forbids racial profiling. LINK Why isn't Nash speaking out about the kidnappings in his city? No, he has to go after people trying to combat that and characterize them as racists. Steve does a disservice to characterize this as a racial issue. It's about border control and lawlessness.
I remember an article back in 04 about him reading che's writings in the team's plane. So it wouldn't surprise me if he actually thought what amigo chose as the title of the thread, "No sport for white men" if he didn't play in the western conference, I would be a fan.
Right, because intelligent hispanics should be excluded from the flow charts so it keeps up the appearance that we keep only the el stupidos out of the country? Typical.
Talk about pandering I kind of understand the team's stance though. Its very PC to come out against laws that prohibit illegal behavior. The sheep that are against this law will eat it up and buy those god awful looking jerseys. I wish other states would do the same thing Arizona is doing, its not good for one state to feel all the heat for trying to stop illegal activity.
how is it pandering? nash has historically been outspoken about many political issues he cares about, including against the iraq war in the early days. he's also himself a foreigner so he would obviously feel this hits closer to home. especially since the hypocrisy of the bill is apparent in the fact that it wouldn't be applied to nash, even though he could be as illegal as any brown person in arizona.
