Do you think you are happier/doing better in your "real life" in periods during which your activity level on the BBS is lower?

Not necessarily talking about what is cause and what is effect - just wondering if you see a correlation.

Reading clutchfans at work sure does make my day go by a lot quicker so yes it does make me happier.

I say personally lower BBS ~ happier life.

Or when I'm posting a lot ~ being miserable and bored with nothing better to do.

That applies to internet as a whole really. The internet can be an enhancer, or it can be a sewer system of the human condition.

Yep, reading through the board creates a distraction that I happily take. I like to watch a game and post as well just because I like the different opinions.

When I'm not too active on the BBS that means I'm busy and being busy means tiresome and stressful.

I rather like my downtime on the BBS. It gets really rough in the offseason though when the GARM and Dish are dead and the hangout is all we have.

It doesn't necessarily correlate to "real life" with me. See "NBA Trade Deadline" as an example...

It really depends. Usually when I am busy on the BBS that means that I am not busy with work and being a small business owner means less money. At the sametime my work can be stressful and annoying at time so I would rather be on the BBS.

I bet I would cry if somebody told me the actual number in days that I've spent on this website. It has to be approaching years.

I usually use clutchfans as a study break or when Im watching rockets games or feel something is about to go down like a free agent signing or trade.

I don't see a corrolation. I'm steady-Eddie when it comes to bbs traffic. Up or down in real life, I'm here about the same. Sometimes, I'm here less when work gets very busy, but work being busy doesn't mean my life is up or down. The one exception is that when I'm on vacation, I don't visit the bbs. So, if I'm not here for 2 weeks at a stretch, my life is definitely on the up.

i love it when i'm at work.

when i'm not at work, and i'm on it a lot (bunch of other sites included), it makes me feel like i'm wasting my life.

With me, it's pretty much steady-as-she-goes. My personal life right now is pretty hectic, what with being in charge of a business, and taking the LSAT in a month......but the time I spend on here is about the same. I don't really understand the people who say that they need to leave the board because it's affecting their personal lives, honestly. It's an internet message board.....not a way of life. I mean, I guess if you are that personally invested in the posts that you make, and you let it affect the people around you in REAL LIFE, then I guess stepping away from the board IS the best solution for you. But still, I just can't wrap my mind around that concept.

 If I wasn't an IT dude, I'd probably be posting and reading less, but... yes, I'm apparently happier when I am just wasti--er, spending quality time helpin' peeps with their problems or reading just silly stuff. I sometimes get upset there aren't many "new" threads or discussions.

Time to go post in the Pic thread... BRB...

I dunno, when I have down time, I check up on things here, and enjoy it. That and occasionally as displacement activity, admittedly.

I don't think there's a correlation between posting/reading clutchfans and how well things are going in my life, personally.

It does make time go by fast when you are at work.

But sometimes it is overwhelming to see all the new threads that have been if I don't sign on for about a week.

When my parents thin I'm upstairs working my ass off for the next big exam like an excellent student, I'm on here.
