My theatre company is holding a gala this Saturday night honoring our old friend Jim Parsons, the star of the CBS sitcom "The Big Bang Theory." If there are any Jim Parsons fans here or if you just want to support the arts in Houston, come check it out.

There isn't one guard/forward player in the NBA better than Kobe. And just judging from Yao struggling to defend guys like Boozer that are a foot shorter than him, he's not the best big man in the NBA.

I obviously can't be there.. lol but I do have some questions for you all to ask him...

one - was he given the direction to treat Sheldon's character as one with Aspergers (and if so did he do any research on the syndrome)

two - Does he keep any of the fun t-shirts he wears on the show (or are they his?)



If you don't get to ask him that's cool, but I do love the show and those are things I wondered.

When I first saw ads for his show I thought it would be cliche but it really isn't. It's the only good, conventional laugh track sitcom on TV right now.

I have to hand it to him. He gets the most lines and many times he has long dialogue that must be hard to remember. Not to mention he's great as Sheldon.

Hayesfan: I know from talking to Jim that the writers don't believe Sheldon has Aspergers, but he has done a lot of reading on the subject since it's been raised so many times.

I also know, just from knowing him, that the shirts aren't his. Not sure if he keeps any of them. Will try to remember to ask him and report back.

Moes: It's possible to attend without paying if you're interested in volunteering. Volunteers typically work a shift for about half the party and are free to spend the rest of the time eating and drinking and dancing with the rest of the guests. Shoot me an email if you're interested. I think we might have a couple slots left.

I should have mentioned before that, in addition to meeting Jim (who is the nicest guy you'd ever meet and a HUGE Rockets fan to boot - he'd rather talk Rockets than anything else), we're known for our great parties -- they're sort of legendary in gala circles. When you put that together with the massive amounts of great food and booze and live music, $50 is kind of a bargain if you can afford it.

Sorry but no. Jim's coming because he used to do a lot of acting with my company before he moved away and got famous. Of course, his success doesn't surprise me at all. We always knew he was great.

The first time I saw that clip (before I saw the show) I thought BBT was going to be the worst show in the world. I watched it a few times after though, and it's actually pretty funny. I think that if they just ditched the laugh track and the pauses they have to make for it, the show could be a bit snappier and funnier. It's got funny characters and setups, though.

It's kinda the same problem I have with How I Met Your Mother, which is one of my favorite shows. I hate the laugh track.

He literally makes the show. Great actor to hate, but cant stop watching because he's so funny. Kind of reminds me of a narrow minded, one upping, never wrong friend that i have. He acts just like him and kind of looks and walks like him.
