SERO or no SERO, Sprint is awesome. It's too bad they're drowning in the marketing rivalry between Verizon and AT&T. Their SEPs are better than anything else anybody has to offer, and they have great coverage and download speeds.
Plus, this is Wimax, which no other carrier can currently compete with.

my only problem with sprint and verizon is the lack of sim cards, otherwise they're both up there in terms of coverage.

You're not gonna be able to get away with SERO if you switch to this phone or any other recent smartphone.

Is Sprint's coverage really that good?
I've had a torrid history of cell phone carrier experiences after leaving Verizon and swore I'd never leave again. Between this phone and rate plans I'm open to reconsidering.

Verizon still has better coverage than Sprint, but the beauty of Sprint is that you get 100% free roaming on Verizon's network (including data) so it's almost as good as having Verizon anyway. The only difference is that data roaming is restricted to 1xRTT so you won't get 3G download speeds if you're roaming. But Sprint's own coverage is really good anyway, so it's a tiny sacrifice to make for the vast difference in plan prices.

Big problem with Sprint is that they have bogus charges on your monthly plan that they never take off... was a customer for about... eh 4-5 years... always had some bull**** charge on there that was never made... Coverage is alright... I'd say AT&T coverage is better in Houston than Sprint's but here in SA I would pick Sprint over AT&T any day in terms of coverage. What's ironic is... AT&T's headquarters are in San Antonio.... you would think they would have some decent coverage here.

Have it with the Touch Pro 2...will pray it works on the Touch Pro 3 or the Supersonic.

IIRC, Touch Pro 2 was one of the last ones that worked with SERO, after that they required you to move to a normal plan if you wanted a newer smartphone (Pre, Hero, etc...).

There is no T-Mobile version of this. There is the HD2, but it's not the same. They both have the same screen size and processor (1Ghz SnapDragon), but the HD2 has Windows Mobile 6.5 instead of Android, has no 4G, and has a 5MP camera instead of the Evo's 8MP plus front-facing camera. I'm pretty sure you will have to buy a data plan if you choose to buy a smartphone on T-Mobile (HD2 or otherwise).

Got ya thanks.
Since Windows Mobile 7 is coming out, won't there be an upgrade for the phone once it does come out? Anybody have any information on that?

No the HD2 will not receive an upgrade to Windows Mobile 7 Series, which is pretty disappointing considering it was just released yesterday.

Sprint’s first 4G smartphone, the EVO 4G, will go on sale June 4 for $200 after a mail-in rebate. (The full price is $450, but if you grab one from Best Buy, you’ll get the discount applied when you buy.)

Is there going to be a pre-order? I heard BB and RS were doing one, but nothing seems to be up on their site yet.
