They are peaking at the right time so thats a VERY good thing. I say just do the best you can, don't look back and let lady luck determine your faith.

I'd say no...though I'm pulling that we do. The teams we are trying to hunt down in the race just keep winning. It's killing our chances. At this point all we can do is win our games...and the rest is out of our hands.

I voted no but I really hope to be proven wrong. It's not so much that they can't win games it's that I don't think any other teams are going to slide out of playoff contention.

Then again, all it takes is 1 injury to a key player and teams could go in a slide and if we keep winning then yeah, it could happen. But realistically the chances are very slim.

I don't really care though, I'm just excited to watch them play games like tonight and dream about next season's potential. Lotto pick + free agency could be exciting too.

Nope, and I would rather have a higher pick than watch us just squeak in.

Well, a 13th or 14th pick is not that much better than a 17,18th pick, and IF we get on a hot streak and sneak into the playoffs, that series with the Lakers would probably be entertaining as hell.

If they were in the east, they would be 5th seed paying against the Nets 4 times a year and the Lakers twice.

Do you recall us winning a couple of meaningless games against Minny and Denver which cost us Brandon Roy?

The higher the pick the better.

I would sit Battier the rest of the year, let him heal up and rest and play Cbud off the bench.

DD you have a bad minset of Tanking...

rockets play best when their back are against the wall !!!

Making the playoffs is number 1 priority for a team !!!

People who want us to not make playoffs please support another team like the clippers or Golden state

The difference is not that stark. Doing extensive and effective research beforehand is probably more important, and some luck helps too. Remember where we picked Brooks? Landry?

If I had to choose between making playoffs or missing it for 3-4 spots earlier in the draft, I'd go with playoffs in a heartbeat. I am sure the whole organization agrees. It's good for the fan base, financially beneficial to Alexander, and rewarding for the hard-working players who fought all season.

No one is saying tank, just play the young guys and let the chips fall where they may.

The 8th seed is not really that good, now is it?

Bynum vs. Hayes/Hill/Andersen
Gasol vs. Scola
Artest vs. Bariza
Kobe vs. Martin/Budinger
Fisher vs. Brooks/Lowry

Good enough for me.

I would enjoy the games, but I think to have a better asset to go to war next year with a healthy roster would be better for the team overall.

And that is all I care about....playing with a shot at a championship.

At this point, it's too early to give up on the playoffs. Playoff experience will be valuable to guys like Martin, Budinger, and Hill ... and to the whole team really. It will help us be more ready for the playoffs next year, even if we get swept.

This isn't the last week of the season where we are already out of it, like the year we won those meaningless games and lost out on Roy. Totally different situation.

True. 17 games left, with San Antonio having 39 wins. Their schedule becomes brutal.

why cant the make it this year? sure the rockets will not catch the blazers but they can still catch the spurs who are playing without parker for the rest of the regular season; their schedule gets much tougher starting tommrow with back to back games at playoff bound miami then orlando, 14 of the 18 teams the spurs play the rest of the way have a winning record!!!

Stop Foreclosure!

If your house payments are more than a month behind, your lender has probably already started foreclosure proceedings. There are programs to help stop home foreclosure in Houston Texas regardless of your situation. With the right help, virtually any foreclosure situation can be successfully resolved to help the homeowner.
