I'm really looking forward to this game. Only if you play it on the easy settings. Playing it on the second most difficulty is quite challenging, and the most difficult is downright brutal. It's racked up a 93.1 on GameRankings.com, and it sounds like if you enjoyed previous entries in the series, this one will blow you away.
i do enjoy the series and will probably purchase this one when it's at a discount. i just don't feel the games match the hype.
just trade in whatever game is collecting dust for a extra 50% off and then it will be at discount price
I was able to stay away from spoilers for an entire week (they came out very early since a lot of stores broke the street dates) but tonight I read some spoilers on accident....lol, right before the game comes out. Sigh... Should have gone to a midnight event, I would have avoided the spoilers. But the damn GS I preordered at requires us to check in at between 6 and 9...then come back AGAIN at 12....so I said screw that.
Got Amazon's release date delivery tomorrow. Can't wait to see how this looks on my LED TV. Uncharted 2 looked phenomenal, and this looks like it may possibly top that... Mass Effect 2 and now God of War 3. Two guaranteed GOTY contenders. 2010 is going to rock for gaming!

I remember you saying that. Very cool, DD. I'll definitely post my thoughts on the game. The video I've seen of it looks amazing, including the facial animation.
Picked it up tonight and I got to say, forget the hype. This thing surpasses that! OMFG. I heard a bit about what to expect, but man is it an awesome experience. The movement of the Titans the whole time was something I really wasn't prepared for. At least not to the extent that it is. I got about an hour and a half in and am looking forward to more of it. I tried to find early flaws, but so far nothing. Playing it on Titan difficulty (second most difficult) and it is a challenge, mostly on boss battles. DD, facial animations looked great. Everything looks great. Also the story is getting pretty heavy. I kind of knew what to expect, but the gravity of it surpasses the first two so far. I actually felt a sympathy for my enemies, but Kratos has to have his vengeance. Spoiler A good part of me wanted to let Poseidon live. I blame his death and everyone else's to come on Zeus. Rare for a game to grab me like that sequence did. Pretty visceral. The main reason I got a PS3 over a 360 a couple years back was because of this game. So you can see how long I've been waiting for it. It was worth the wait.
Can't wait to pick it up, bought Dante's Inferno a couple of weeks ago and stopped playing it because I'd rather just play GOW, that demo they released was a lot of fun. Looking forward to picking it up this weekend.
It's funny, as much hype as this has received and great feedback from those who have played it, it seems a little disappointing to me that it's not getting higher than low 9's in scored around the web. Great scores, but I guess a perfect example of sometimes something can just not live up to the hysteria beforehand. lol
