Although I suppose, Kansas is probably still a hair worse...

This "war on terror", like the "war on drugs" is just a giant ****ing waste of money.

If this had been a Federal law, Lincoln would have brought in a huge amount of money. The only two times SC has displayed any intelligence was when they backed down from secession after President Andy Jackson threatened to personally lead the Army into the state and every night Colbert is on.

I'm not really seeing how this is idiotic. It just gives the state another stick to beat undesirables with. I think it's unjust and evil, but not idiotic.

lol wut? I suggest than, that S. Carolina pass another law mandating that all potential criminals register with the state prior to committing their crimes. It's such an obvious solution!

So if there were a terror attack in South Carolina, would they be more upset about the actual attack or the fact that they didn't register beforehand?

Actually I'm waiting for the Tea Party to exhibit outrage at South Carolina for drafting a law that has nothing to do with South Carolina.

lolwut? No, obviously the only people that will register are people who want to make a lame joke. The point of the law is that when South Carolina prosecutors find a group of Muslims they don't like, they can accuse it of sedition, put all the group's members in prison for up to 10 years and cripple their credit with a huge fine.

Without this law, you'd have to prove that each member of an organization was participating in some plot to overthrow the government. With the law, you merely have to prove each person was a member of the organization. So, say you have a mosque with an imam who was an Al Queda member who perhaps is using mosque money to support some domestic terrorists, you can now haul the whole congregation to prison for being members of the mosque, even if none of them knew anything about nor approved of (if they had known) their imam's affiliations and actions.

So, I'd say dangerous is a better descriptor than idiotic.

I guess secession isn't quite the same as overthrow?

IMO its equally idiotic and dangerous

if their aim is to preven terrorism - idiotic
if their aim is to discriminate - dangerous
