Okay, it's not just that Palin was using cheat notes during her interview-

It's what she felt was too complex to remember without a cheat sheet-

I wonder how President Palin would do during question time with the Democratic caucus?

That's a big step up from Obama's level of dependency on using the TOTUS, any way you want to look at it.

Even a child gets the training wheels taken off of their bicycle once they learn how to ride it without them. When is President Obama going to be ready to be weaned from using the TOTUS, except for major speeches such as the State of the Union Address?

Obama is over 25% of the way through his term of office. The clock is ticking.

I guess you missed the WHOLE QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION he had with Republicans that didn't have a teleprompter at all. Sorry but the TOTUS gag just doesn't hold water anymore.

You'll have to come up with something else unoriginal and perhaps less substantial to try and lambaste Obama with.

The funny thing is that after being caught writing cheat notes on her hand, she mentioned Obama's use of the teleprompter in her speach. I wonder how Palin does extemporaneously, since she has problems even delivering written speeches.

Of course the teleprompter attack was stupid from the beginning. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using a teleprompter, and Obama has shown that he handles himself quite well without one.

I also like the style of mojoman in this post. He can't defend Palin, so he tries a futile attempt to label Obama as being just as bad.

I don't know glynch, Mojo may have a point... but that point would have to be: Katie Couric is more tenacious than the entire GOP Congressional caucus. I mean, what would you rather answer: "So my question is, why not start freezing spending now? And would you support a line-item veto and helping us get a vote on it in the House?"
...
or
...
"Talk about your view of the bail-out." (just to bring it back to the actual thread topic.)

Oh, and 20th century speech notes device > paleolithic speech notes device.

Except for Tah and Sah, who will probably vote for her more fervently now.

Palin, Colin Powell, Lou Holtz and others are speaking at Toyota Center Monday for some type of motivational deal.

Well, I don't know about Powell and Lou Holtz, but if nothing else, Palin is definitely motivational. I had never donated money to a political campaign until halfway through her nomination speech at the GOP convention.

What's hilarious is that she had to scratch out budget and replace it with tax -- 'what was I going to talk about... oh yeah TAX cuts... you betcha.'

I find it hilarious that Republicans fell in love with Palin after she gave a speech that she clearly did not write, yet when Obama gives a great speech they just claim that he only sounds good when using a teleprompter. Palin was announced as McCain's running mate on August 29th. On September 3rd she gave a speech that she obviously did not write herself, however that did not prevent Republicans from immediately falling head over heels in love with her. Palin can give a decent speech when using a teleprompter, yet she sure as hell hasn't prove that she can respond to even basic policy questions with clear, intelligent answers to back to her views.
Here's Obama's responses to some difficult questions from the GOP.

Here's Palin's response to a basic question on the bailout.

When Katie Couric asks Palin simple questions that she can't answer with any clarity at all Republicans complain that they were 'gotcha questions'. Yet Obama actually was asked many 'gotcha questions' from the House GOP he he responded with clarity and with facts to back up his assertions and he showed how the Republican talking points are inaccurate. Could you imagine seeing Palin take questions from the House Democrats for over an hour? That would be hilarious. All she'd have to say is 'tax cut' and 'drill baby drill' and 'keep the government out of...' God that would be great television.

I was just drawing attention to the double standard. Again.

Is it unfair to expect President Obama to be able to perform at a standard that is at least as high as what you guys expect Sarah Palin to perform at? Or not?
