I've never seen anyone hit like this guy - every punch is an absolute bomb. He has 18 KOs in the first round - which just crazy. His first fight televised in the US is tonight on Showtime - hopefully someone will have a good link or two.

Valero reminds me of Hitman Hearns/ Tyson in their prime - trying to knock everyone out with one punch -- Paq and Mayweather want nothing of this guy if he moves up in weight a few pounds.

He has an interesting background on why no one has heard of him in the US:

Here's the first guy to get to the 2nd round.

He seems like a good boxer with power, but lacks speed.

Pac/FMJ would chew this guy up and spit him out.

He's won two belts WBA/ WBC at lightweight were these guys for real? /Don't take that as sarcastic I really don't know anyone in the LW division. From what i've seen of his fights I don't think Pac or Mayweather would want to take the risk of fighting this guy.

He will continue to look good against low level competition, but anyone who boxes with as poor technique as he does, no defense and swinging wildly, will get come up against a fighter who counter punches against him and just pummels his defenseless style. For now, its definitely entertaining to watch him wail on mediocre fighters.

Do they make reverse steroids? I don't think Pacquiao could get back down to 130 otherwise. Maybe Bagwell could do it.

LMAO @ Pac or Mayweather being scared of Valero.

Valero fights two weight divisions below them and looked average against C+ fighter in Hector Velazquez before Velazquez quit on his stool after the 6th.

Valero has only fought bums and old fighters; the two belts he won were against two 38 year olds (ancient for super featherweights).

He fights with his chin up in the air winging wild shots. Average handspeed and no defense whatsoever...Pacquiao and Mayweather would kill this guy.

Nobody questions his punching power. Once he steps in against a fighter who can box and take a shot he will be in trouble. He's a head case.

Here is Valero's absolute destruction of 48-4 Antonio PitalĂșa in their WBC champion bout. The video is a must watch.

Afraid to take the risk - not afraid to fight him if there was mega-money involved, but that's a long way off for Valero. As for his weight he could bulk up to 145 -- he's already fighting at the 135 limit and IMO 10 extra pounds of muscle will only increase his power.

Tyson was/ is a head case -- that's what made and continues to make him great.

I want to see Juan Diaz vs Edwin Valero. Juan might end up getting KTFO, but it would be a very exciting match. Juan would go down swinging.

It's still ridiculous to suggest that they are scared of him, or that "Paq and Mayweather want nothing of this guy." You don't know that. Floyd Mayweather has fought murderous punches like Corrales and Castillo. Pacquiao has made a career beating up all time greats and bigger men.

Here's also why you'll never hear his name mentioned by Pac or May:

    1. He doesn't have a work visa in the US because of a DUI charge.
    2. He just moved up lightweight. Very few people can carry up their power an additional 2 weight classes. Duran lost a ton of power when he went to WW from lightweight.
    3. He hasn't fought anybody. He needs to fight Campbell, Marquez, Bradley...hell, even Malignaggi or Katsidis to prove himself at a world class level.

Actually I thought it was becasue he had a skull injury from a motorcycle accident that prevents him from getting a boxing license in most states

You're not completely understanding my point -- also Valero will eventually be licensed to fight in the US of this I have no doubt.
