With Joey Dorsey getting some playing time, I began thinking why all of a sudden he's getting playing time. Some might say that Rockets are trying to showcase him but I think it's actually to cut down on Chuck Haye's minutes given his recent problems with knee tendinitis. Even before Joey starting getting more minutes, I noticed that Chuck has been playing less and less minutes and this starting in cut of playing time seemed to correspond to a report that Chuck had to sit out with knee tendinitis. It's known that the cure to tendinitis is prolong rest but I think that the Rockets can't afford to take Chuck out for the season and instead are trying to do the next best option which is to play him less.

So what do you guys think? Rockets doing some showcasing, trying to cut down on Chuck's minutes, or something else?

I think you're right. We need more rebounding as well. Don't see any showcasing here.

Maybe their just trying to see if he can really contribute at the NBA level. At some point the club has to decide if this guy can help us in the future or not.

They're just trying to develop him and get value out of him. You've got to do that with every player.

I wouldn't even doubt he's seeing big minutes as a homecoming gift for the guy (he played college ball in the same building).

I'm pretty sure it's solely because David Andersen has been playing with all the skill of Nikoloz Tskitishvili.
