Second awesome occurrence in two games for me. Sitting right by the Rockets tunnel with about 1:30 left in regulation, I saw Daryl Morey walking behind the basket with a world-ending expression on his face. As he walked into the tunnel, he shouted something that sounded like, "this ****ing game is ****ing rigged!" Right after, he grabbed some poor usher and Hulk-slammed him into the wall and stormed into the tunnel. MOREY SMASH!
If you're saying that you sincerely saw that, you're the second person who posted that they did. Edit -- whoops! Never mind... he's right above this post
would you believe your the 2nd poster today that heard morey say this !! the other was moestavern who was at the game. (its in the game thread) and also, did morey really body slam somebody?
I was sitting next to Moes when it happened. It wasn't so much the expletives that shocked me, but that he shoved the guy into a freakin' wall.
Are you serious about this part? Edit: I just saw you confirm it. That sounds a little messed up if he did that. Hopefully, it wasn't what it seemed.
Not even kidding, I couldn't believe it. When he came back out I yelled at him that he's gonna get assault charges if he's not careful.
I really doubt Morey being upset at the refs in a game is going to lead him to emotionally react in trade talks. He's a fan of the team like the rest of us. That to me is cool to see, given that he grew up in Ohio cheering for the Browns and Cavs. (then again, for a few million I could probably cuss out the refs on behalf of the T-Wolves or Bobcats, too)
Unlike my counterpart, It was hard for me to really say he "slammed the guy against the wall" but he definitely shoved this guy pretty hard, even if it was in a playful manner. He dropped a couple F-bombs as well. When he came back out after we won he was on his phone. I yelled "You tell em Daryl"
Was it a hard wall the usher got slammed into? Anyway, it is pretty messed up. I don't want my GM going Ron Artest on employees.
I saw him storming off. It was quite obvious he was mad at something. I was sitting at Center Court so I couldn't hear or read his lips. His family was acting as if it happens a lot. They seemed used to watching the end of the game without him. The officiating was typical. I thought he was upset that given the supporting cast he gave Rick, he was hoping to see one of his wings that could dribble and shoot out on the floor when we needed some points. Not both Trevor and Shane...
One of two things happened here: 1. The guy is a visting GM in town to discuss trades or 2. DM's wife called him was teasing him about how bad the Rockets are just b4 the guy gets slammed
Well, he stormed off right after Ridnour made the layup to make it 91-89 Bucks. Right after Brooks got rejected on a layup attempt. Not sure if he was still angry about Bogut clearly fouling Landry a few plays before and no call, but he was seriously pissed off.
Heh, sounds like DM has something else in common with Billy Beane. Moneyballers are violent by nature.
I came in late so I may be wrong on this but they(on 1560) said the guy he shoved or pushed against the wall or whatever was Gersson Rosas?!
From Morey: Funny. I was not mad at refs I was mad at our terrible decision making. I ran into Gersson (vp player personnel) on the way out, don't think he would like being called an usher!
Is it bad that these alpha male tendencies you speak of make me love Morey just a little more?? I am so dysfunctional. At any rate, to discuss the topic... can I ask moes and g, was he cursing "AT" someone "TO" someone or just cursing? Edit: I posted too late.. so he was cursing the team, interesting.
