If she wants to ruin whatever tiny hopes she may have for a future political career, then yes...

Based on how the mid-terms go, she should probably decide whether to run the Committee or run for President in 2012. Her best bet now would be to encourage support for Steele, and stress party unity for the sake of beating Democrats in 2010. That's probably the easiest way she can both re-assert the appearance of leadership and bury the hatchet with Party establishment.

I would say she shouldn't but I don't know if it will never happen. I think even among many Republicans Palin is a polarizing figure. For that matter while she is riding a wave of popularity right now she has never shown the commitment towards organizing and party building that will be needed.

I'd say she's be a complete joke, but Michael Steele seems to have that covered all on his own. I think she'd be as bad as he is. Can you really see her going on talk shows and not sticking her foot in her mouth as often as Steele? Not to mention how she holds a grudge and would go on vendetta against the people she's supposed to help get elected.

She can whip the base into a frenzy, but Palin would be a disaster running a national party.

I consider myself a Libertarian, which means I've voted for Democrats most of my life. It would be nice to have an alternative to vote for, and I hope one of these days the Republicans will be come a grown up party (or least not so damn childish). Palin as Republican Chair does nothing to convince me that the GOP is moving forward.
