This is why I think he stays at least until the summer, the team needs him to tutor the young guys. Our young wings will learn a lot from him about how to play defense. DD
Bah. Sorry about that. What's with these videos? Anyway, here's the link. http://www.nba.com/rockets/video/2009/12/07/SHANEANDROOKIES512Kmov-1146715/index.html
I really hope JT was listening.. CBud's eyes were wide when Batt was explaining stuff to him.. He was asking questions.. It looked like he was taking advantage of Battier's tutorial.. JT had this vacant look on his face like he was waiting for it to be over.
His response is iffy too ... "I'm not really a thinker on the basketball court, I just play" ... sounds like he thinks he's got an innate ability, hopefully he learns that technique will take him further
He talked about T-mac - Said he looked good "in a 1/2 court setting" - and he also said the only way to know is in a game.
He looked disinterested. Maybe that's just the way he is? Hopefully he soaks up everything he can from Shane.
i thought that would be one reason why they would want to keep him too, but with Yao being out, there's certain things they can't be taught this year, which is why i think he'll definitely stay this year and most of next year, then whether he is traded or not will depend on A) his individual play at the time with a healthy roster B)whether the rockets think they can re-sign him at a good value c) quality of any proposed deal for or including him And he'd be easier to move next year anyway because he's expiring, that's when more calls will come in or team will be more likely to include him in deals.
i was worried he would be somewhat of jerk if he didn't play, at least that's the first impression i got from him early on, but watching him on the bench he seems to be dealing with his role well, he's not sitting on the bench with a frown, but actually interacting and paying attention.
and i hope he explained to Trevor how to guide the offensive player with your hand like Jt mentioned, thats what he should have done with Roy..
Looked like 2 schools were going. In the background, Adelman was antimating with Scola. Wonder what was going on there.
One quick thing I noticed, the scatch behind the ear thing is in most cases a sign of the brain going... "I DON"T GET IT" or "I DON'T CARE". Taylor really didn't look like he was soaking it in. I'm hoping the guy really can turn into something good for the team. Also Battier has been great for the Rockets, if not for his play but for his off court image and efforts. I think he and Trevor should share their thoughts on how to play D with each other.
