Whats up with Animal Collective? I heard the hype, like that kind of music, threw up looking at the album cover, and gave it a listen. But it just never hit me. Am I missing something? Am I the only one?

Actually I was at lunch with my family and just got back, you bozos. :p

I'm not as big on music of recent times as I am on getting old artists and their back catalogs (like I have been doing with Captain Beefheart, Public Image Limited, Sun Ra, etc.)

Let me just list my top 5 for now - I may list a top 20 later today if I have more time to think about this.

    1 - Kid A by Radiohead
2 - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco
3 - Silent Alarm by Bloc Party
4 - Turn on the Bright Lights by Interpol
5 - Oracular Spectacular by MGMT

Oh and DC, I am absolutely DISMAYED that you don't have "Dead Cities" by M83 ANYWHERE on your list. I know you have a lot of good stuff on your list, but you can't seriously tell me that "Dead Cities" isn't one of the best 100 albums of the '00s??!!

I would love to see what Brightside's list looks like.

Yeah, I though would spare you 200-101. :p

Guilty as charged. I'm just glad my hipster-dom is pretty much confined to my taste in music.

You tell me. I've been avoiding looking at other lists to eliminate any outside influences as I try to compile my own (although I think I accidentally saw that NME picked the Strokes and Pitchfork picked Kid A as their album of the decade).

But yeah, I typically like indie music which is what Pitchfork predominantly covers, so I'd be surprised if there wasn't a lot of overlap.
