I find it funny, the last 4 minutes of this Hornets/Dallas game, JJ Barea has flopped 3 times (got the call once) on Chris Paul, another flopper (at least he was last year, did he change or once a flopper always a flopper).
Seeing Chris complain about something that he does is just funny.
*****Oh as I am typing this Peja hits a 3 to tie (97-97) with 6.7 secs left. Wow another OT game????**********

Flopping is getting ridiculous. It sickens me that we have frequent floppers (Lowry and Scola) on this team...

I'm with you on that, always yelling at Scola for that.

Lowry clearly draws fouls, he doesn't flop.

I'm an ends justifies the means kind of guy. But I still highly discourage flopping.

Lowry doesn't flop as obviously as Scola... he more embellishes the contact. Scola acts like he got shot with a cannon.

Lowry take charges like Shane and Hayes do, which is especially tough for a guy that's essentially a midget out there.

If you believe that what Lowry does is flopping, you don't know basketball..
Lowry is one of the toughest players in the league, he drives hard and gets hammered, that's how he gets the call. He plays tenacious physical D, and he's quick enough to set his feet for a charge. a charge isn't called flopping, flopping is acting like you got hit by a bus when no one really touched you.

There's a difference between flopping and making the contact seen. What lowry does is make sure the ref sees the contact that is being made, flopping is basically flailing where there is little to no contact.

Scola is not as bad as other players, namely Kirilenko and Joel Godzilla

C'mon now. Lowry does get clobbered quite a bit and he's a tough guy for getting back up every time. But he embellishes contact on a regular basis. It's very obvious sometimes.
Chuck and Shane don't flop much. Scola and Lowry do it often.

But Lowry embellishing contact is NOT a flop. He is getting fouled and he is making sure the refs see it. Flopping makes it appear like there was a foul where in reality there was none. At least that is my opinion.

I thought about this while watching the game last night.
Scola's flopping was bugging be a bit. I hate the flop. If Scola was on another team he'd be one of my most hated players because of this.
Then I thought, Kobe whines every time he drives and the shot doesn't go in. Is that kind of the same as flopping? I don't know. He gets a lot of calls just by acting like he was viciously fouled when really it was just good defense. I think I want whining and flopping to stop.
I don't know if Lowry or Battier flop, but for Scola it's embarrassing.

I don't like scola's antics either, but he's not playing soft, I'll say that. Further, the things he tries to get away with are nothing compared to the things that get called against him... so... I give him a slight pass even though I find it embarrassing as well.

Nobody defines a flop the way you do. In fact, comparatively, players embellish contact much more often than they fall down with zero contact. 95% of flopping is exaggerating a hit.
