Wow... last year I did horrible! I will try to temper expectations this time around :)

    1. The Rockets will win over 37.5 games this season.
    2. Tracy McGrady will play over 32.5 games this season for the Rockets.
    3. Luis Scola's rebounding average will be over 9.5 this season.
    4. Excluding McGrady, the Rockets will have under 0.5 players score 17.5 points a game or more this season.
    5. The Rockets will rank over 8.5 overall in the league in defensive FG% (last year they were 5th).

    7. Trevor Ariza will shoot over 32.5% from three-point territory this season.

    9. Chase Budinger will play over 11.5 minutes a game this season.
    10. Daryl Morey will make under 1.5 trades before the February trading deadline.

Well, maybe I didn't temper it too much.. lots of over in my picks!

    1. The Rockets will win [over] 37.5 games this season.
They will play hard and beat most of the teams they should and some they shouldn't.

    2. Tracy McGrady will play [under] 32.5 games this season for the Rockets.
This is tough, I think they will trade him and that is the key, if they don't the over will win....

    3. Luis Scola's rebounding average will be [over]9.5 this season.
Who else is going to rebound? He will have to get tons of them this year.

    4. Excluding McGrady, the Rockets will have [over] 0.5 players score 17.5 points a game or more this season.
Aaron Brooks should average more, and Luis has a shot as well.

    5. The Rockets will rank [under] 8.5 overall in the league in defensive FG% (last year they were 5th).
They will still play tough defense.

    6. The number of games Trevor Ariza starts will be [over] the number of games Shane Battier starts this season for the Rockets.
If Tmac comes back, Shane goes to the bench, he is the consumate team guy.

    7. Trevor Ariza will shoot [under] 32.5% from three-point territory this season.
He is a role player who is not a good 3pt shooter. He should make his money on the move to the basket not from 3.

    8. The Rockets as a team will shoot [under] 45.3% from the field this season (they shot 45.3% last year).
Yao helps a lot here, he is out for the year, more 3pt shots = lower percentage.

    9. Chase Budinger will play [under] 11.5 minutes a game this season.
This is assuming no injuries, but he should play some every game, and if Tmac is traded this goes up.

    10. Daryl Morey will make [over] 1.5 trades before the February trading deadline.
He will make at least one to get under the lux tax....so I am going over, thinking Tmac goes as well.

    1. The Rockets will win over 37.5 games this season.
I think they'll cross 40 wins, assuming McGrady gives them much more this year than last year.

    2. Tracy McGrady will play over 32.5 games this season for the Rockets.
    See above.

    3. Luis Scola's rebounding average will be under 9.5 this season.
He'll just fall short, closer to 9.0.

    4. Excluding McGrady, the Rockets will have under 0.5 players score 17.5 points a game or more this season.
Brooks has the best chance, but he'll just fall short I think. May not get enough minutes to do it if Lowry plays well.

    5. The Rockets will rank over 8.5 overall in the league in defensive FG% (last year they were 5th).
They'll give up more shots in the paint.

    6. The number of games Trevor Ariza starts will be over the number of games Shane Battier starts this season for the Rockets.
Tough one, because Ariza is more injury prone. But I think he's more likely to stay a starter when McGrady returns.

    7. Trevor Ariza will shoot over 32.5% from three-point territory this season.
He's looked good from out there in preseason, continuing what he did in the playoffs.

    8. The Rockets as a team will shoot under 45.3% from the field this season (they shot 45.3% last year).
They'll shoot a bunch of threes, and they lose their post up option. FG% could be misleading, if they become a more effective 3-point shooting team.

    9. Chase Budinger will play over 11.5 minutes a game this season.
Not by much. And he may have some DNP-CDs as well.

    10. Daryl Morey will make under 1.5 trades before the February trading deadline.
Wouldn't surprise me if he made more than 1, but 1 seems most likely.

Usually don't do this, but I'll give it a go.

    1. The Rockets will win over 37.5 games this season.

I think they are a little underrated offensively by critics/analysts, and their defense will play well enough for them to have a winning season. And assuming McGrady is with the team through the season, I simply cannot imagine McGrady having a losing season with this much talent around him, since he has in the past done much more with less. Even if he isn't as good as he used to be.

    2. Tracy McGrady will play over 32.5 games this season for the Rockets.

The possibility that he gets traded is there, but I think that probability is much less than 50%. Easy decision here. Major trades just don't happen easily in the NBA. Plus, Les still loves Tracy, and I think Tracy is going to give him more reasons to want to keep him around.

    3. Luis Scola's rebounding average will be over 9.5 this season.

The absence of Yao Ming certainly offers Scola the opportunity to become a 10rpg player; he has historically had strong rebounding stats per 40min even with Yao on the court, and I think he is going to be getting a lot of floor time. Chuck is the only player who I think could potentially take away rebounds from him, but I think there will be enough to be had. Nevertheless, this is still a tough call to make.

    4. Excluding McGrady, the Rockets will have under 0.5 players score 17.5 points a game or more this season.

This one is a tougher call to make. I expect to see a lot of 25point games from Aaron Brooks and even some 30+ point games. The question is if he will do so consistently enough to break that mark ... there will be lots of opportunities for Scola, Ariza, Battier and Landry to score points as well. And if I'm going to predict McGrady staying with the Rockets, then it follows that Brooks may not have the ball in his hands enough to break 17.5ppg. Very close call -- he will probably be right around that mark.

    5. The Rockets will rank under 8.5 overall in the league in defensive FG% (last year they were 5th).

While they will certainly continue to be fairly dominant in perimeter defense, the loss of Yao will cost them inside enough times that they will fall in the defensive rankings. I still expect them to be above average defensively, probably right around 10th.

    6. The number of games Trevor Ariza starts will be under the number of games Shane Battier starts this season for the Rockets.

Easy call. Battier will not be benched for Ariza. Not happening. When you bench Battier, the Rockets lose. It's as simple as that. Rick knows it.

    7. Trevor Ariza will shoot over 32.5% from three-point territory this season.

I think his 3 point shooting improvement is for real, particularly in spot up situations.

    8. The Rockets as a team will shoot under 45.3% from the field this season (they shot 45.3% last year).

I think they are underrated offensively, but I don't expect them to sustain their offensive efficiency sans Yao who scored 19.7ppg on 55% shooting last season.

    9. Chase Budinger will play under 11.5 minutes a game this season.

Even if he gets some significant time early, at some point he'll hit the rookie wall. And he has too much competition ahead of him at the wing positions with Battier, Ariza, McGrady and Brooks (when Adelman uses his dual point guard sets). I don't see it happening unless there is a significant injury to any of the aforementioned. I still think he's a potential future All Star.

    10. Daryl Morey will make under 1.5 trades before the February trading deadline.

But there will be over 15 wild trade rumors on the BBS, and Doc Rocket will be responsible for perpetrating at least five of them.
