360 users seem to enjoy this, so it is nice that PS3 owners will get to use it as well. Unfortunately, it will require some special disc at first (great job guys!), but I think Sony will fix this with a firmware update later on. Probably just wanted to get this out during the holidays just so they could say they support it...even if it isn't working 100% like it should.

    Cue the PS3 bashers.

Seriously though, it is cool to get it. Isn't there also a way to watch Hulu on there? I know there was for a time, but i thought they took it away.

    Man Blockbuster is getting owned.

Netflix streaming is now a feature on major bluray players.
Also the newer TVs will have Netflix streaming too.

They did take it away via the normal PS3 browser, but I thought I read some program still lets you check it out. Maybe PlayOn or something.

"Exclusive" these days means "exclusive for 6 months."

Netflix instant streaming is the shiznit... I have one of those Roku digital players and it is pretty fancy... You can view it in 720p HD on some tv shows and movies.. Might need to get a PS3 on black friday...

Since the 360 has offered Netflix streaming, I've spent far more time watching movies and TV shows on mine than I have playing games. FAR more. I love it.

I have a PS3 and a 360, but I don't feel like signing up for Xbox Live, so this is good.

question for those who stream HD shows from netflix. Is a 6mb u-verse connection fast enough to stream HD shows/movies through netflix streaming?

Yeah more than enough. I can stream HD on 3 MB... 6 should be more than enough.

ARe most of the TV shows available in HD? The only thing holding me back from streaming is that it wasn't HD quality before but now it is. Now I just want to know what is available in HD.

How big is the selection of movies and shows you can stream? Do you get the same amount as if you were renting them through mail?

Does this mean we can get "blu-ray quality" rental by streaming? I'm kind of confused here........

No streaming is 'blu ray' quality. But I've found a lot of the HD streaming to be pretty solid with a good connection.

Anyhow, this is pretty sweet. Netflix streaming on the 360 has been pretty awesome, it's redundant but I wouldn't mind having it on my PS3. I won't use it until they get the disc thing worked out probably, but that shouldn't take long.

    Great feature.

no. it just means it offers that function, for example, the function to play mp3s or view pictures from your memory card.

depends on the content.some contents are in hd, so you get that resolution. others are in 480, so you get dvd quality. (I use the xbox for my netflix streaming)

here the netflix streaming for a samsung blu-ray player.
