I don't care much for too many console games (why the hell did I buy a 360, again? lol), but I have to have Forza 3. I didn't know it was coming out in October. Crap, and right before Dragon Age, too. Ah well, hopefully they'll both be hits that I'll be playing for weeks/months. I'm buying a new video card just for Dragon Age.
Man, I've been waiting for this month. I was torn between Brutal Legend and Racthet & Clank, but I've picked up every Ratchet game on release day so I'm going with that. I'll be playing Brutal Legend as soon as I pick up the Ratchet platinum, and then Uncharted 2. You also left out the Fallout 3 GOTY edition with all the DLC packs included. I'll have to get around to picking that up one of these years.
Yeah, I tend to have this thing where I usually don't post GOTY re-releases, especially in "busy" months. But if you haven't played Fallout 3, then that is definitely a major release for the month (guess the "GOTY" part makes that obvious). In other news, it looks GameTrailers posted their Uncharted 2 review just after I made this thread. Apparently they mention like every major plot point in the game though, so if you have any interest in the story (like myself), don't watch it. Don't know why GT does this sometimes...and yet in other reviews, they make sure to avoid mentioning spoilers.
I must be the only one slavering away for Tekken 6. October 27 can't come soon enough! I can hardly believe it's been over 4 1/2 years since the last one debuted.
Wow...what a month. Next month will be just as sick as well. Not sure what to do at this point because there are a crapload of games that I have to play. I actually just started Fallout 3...I think it may need to go on hold for some of the more recent games. Im hardcore into Madden right now...and I cant put that down yet with online franchise modes. I loved Forza 2...but I think I might actually have to pass on Forza 3 and just wait for GT5. Too many games coming out and I have to make some tough cuts somewhere. Uncharted 2 and Ratchet and Clank are my must buys for the month. Although, I havent played any of their previous games, so Im not sure if it would be necessary to play the earlier installments first. Im also leaning towards getting DJ Hero to mix things up a bit, no pun intended. Need to get all this in before Modern Warfare 2 and Assassins Creed 2 hit the shelves next month, FML. Edit: Fifa 10 in Oct as well. Jeez.
Uncharted Beta has been pretty solid but I'm not sure if it's a must buy...never been a fan of console shooting and MW2 will most likely overshadow it soon anyway Demon's Souls has always been on my must buy list, but considering I am having so much trouble beating the tougher Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma Team Missions, I am having second thoughts about buying Demon's Souls day 1. Will probably be delayed until I am completely done with NG2Sigma
Just realized BL and NBA are in there of course. Brutal Legend's demo was so awesome, can't wait to play that. Well I know at least R&C is a conclusion of the storyline, so while it may not be 'necessary' it's probably going to leave you a little confused. Personally I am really looking forward to the new one and love what I hear about the features added. Out of curiosity; since you haven't played any of the previous games in the two series' (and that spans even PS2 for R&C), what makes them 'must buys' for you?
What makes this game stand out? I've heard some interest in this series elsewhere, but I haven't really had a chance to check it out. I watched one of the gameplay videos last night, and it looked...um...maybe OK at best. But I'm assuming that the best parts of the game aren't really noticeable in a 2-3 minute gameplay video (especially when the graphics aren't very good from what I could tell).

Well, for one thing, when R&C and Uncharted came out on the PS3, I only had the 360. So, I kinda missed the boat on them. I casually played R&C on the PS2...but that was only at friends houses and just for a few moments to mess around. So, I never really got into the story. But, having played around with it and having played Tools of Destruction very briefly at gamestop, I really like the art style, presentation, and gameplay. It just looks like it would be an enjoyable experience. With Uncharted, thats one of those games that so many people have raved about. Graphics, gameplay, story...all seem to be top notch. While I always enjoyed my xbox exclusives, I still wished that I had a PS3 so that I can play games on the "other side". Now that I finally have a PS3, Im looking forward to getting my hands on these two titles. Since you mentioned that R&C is going to be a conclusion to the story, I think it'd be best if I hold off and play Tools of Destruction first.
Yeah, I checked it out too and didnt come away impressed at all...didnt look good to me. I cant imagine the game all of a sudden dominating from what I saw thus far.
To be fair, I'm not saying it isn't any good. Like I said, I seem to recall some positive praise for the series before. But yeah...hard to get that impression after watching gameplay videos. If it sounds good, I definitely wouldn't mind giving it a shot. On an unrelated note (even to this thread), Square-Enix did release the TGS trailer in English (redid lip-syncing, English VA, 360 buttons replacing PS3 buttons, etc.). 1080p download here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TLOKSPF0 English VA is above average I suppose. Better than most/all HD JRPGs, although I still don't understand how Atlus seems to do a better job with localizing their niche games. And why didn't SE just keep the guy that did FFXII?
