The pictures of Sydney's MASSIVE dust storm look absolutely apocalyptic. I hope all you Aussie Clutchfans are ok. please describe the scene over there if you can. link to those how don't know link
why wouldn't they be ok? From what I can see it's just a dust storm. Like the shamals (sp?) in the middle east. I've gotta admit though, the scenes of the approaching dust storms are epic. But once they are there.....man do they SUCK.
If I looked outside and the sky was red I'd be flipping out, and I rode out Hurricane Ike drinking beer playing PS3.
I think it hit Sydney yesterday, I live in Brisbane (more north of Sydney) but yea we got the red haze coming through today, no need to panic... its just extremely annoying, the dust goes everywhere, even indoors, u can feel the dust in the back of your mouth and going anywhere is a pain in the ass. Was kinda weird felt like apocalypse day or something, I was semi expecting meteors to come flying out and the earth splitting open with molten lava etc. I was having my haircut (15 mins) and after I was done walked outside and it was like the end of the world lol, so it all happened VERY quickly from perfect conditions to crazy dust storm, its cleared up pretty well for now. So all in all, pretty cool experience, but I'm glad its gone, will have to give the car a wash but thats about as severe as the damage got for me... but yes once again, it was quite a surreal experience.
Crazy stuff. I remember watching a youtube video of a couple driving into a dust storm and it literally went from day into pitch black.

Wow. Funny side: looked like they were going to drive through a huge slice of pumpkin pie with cool whip (sorry, missed lunch). Pretty cool how the white clouds hovered over the dust storm.
I live in Sydney and yesterday was crazy. I couldn't believe what I saw when i woke up, it was incredible. After that though it just got annoying. You could taste it and smell it and it just made a huge mess. Was a good day for car washers and window cleaners though, im sure.
