A huge part of the 80's has left us. ET Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/D9lbYCeSbFw&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/D9lbYCeSbFw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Doesn't do him justice to just name 2 movies he directed in the opening sentence...he directed the suburbs in the 1980's would be a better way to say it. sorry for his family.

Lisa: You had to be big shots didn't you. You had to show off. When are you gonna learn that people will like you for who you are, not for what you can give them. Well, in your race for power and glory, you forgot one small detail. Weird Science....Kelly LeBrock...enough said!
I'm wondering why I'm more sensitive to this now than in previous years past. When people like Stanley Kubrick, River Phoenix, Kurt Cobain, Wilt Chamberlain, Walter Payton, Princess Diana and JFK Jr were passing away I was like eh. Now if something like the assistant director to Caddyshack passes away I get moved.

Hughes made movies that people from my generation greatly related to. They epitomized the sentiment of the 80's and 80's teenagers. Really, the more I think about him dying, the worse I feel.
Thats exactly it, good old depressing sense of own mortality. Plus I been in a big time doom & gloom phase of late. So I'll go take that out in the D&D instead of here

And I really don't care for the way your company left me in the middle of f**king nowhere with f**king keys to a f**king car that isn't f**king there. And I really didn't care to f**king walk down a f**king highway and across a f**king runway to get back here to have you smile in my f**king face. I want a f**king car RIGHT F**KING NOW!
RIP- great, great contributor to 80's culture. Ironically, my wife, sister and I did a JH marathon a few weekends ago. He did not direct Pretty in Pink, Howard Deutch directed. John Hughes wrote it. You can tell if you watch several JH movies in a row. Pretty in Pink doesn't have that JH magic. He directed eight movies (Ferris is the best, IMO): # Curly Sue (1991) # Uncle Buck (1989) # She's Having a Baby (1988) # Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987) # Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) # Weird Science (1985) # The Breakfast Club (1985) # Sixteen Candles (1984)
