The wait could be over by Tuesday

John Ireland reportedly said on ESPN 710 radio this morning that Lamar Odom would sign with the Lakers sometime in the next couple of days. Ditto the info coming from the Miami Herald, which echoes the time frame I got from the conversations I had over the weekend.

The wait could be over soon.

In other news, Wade is leaving Miami.

    Poor Dwayne.

It is worthy to note that Ireland is an extremely reputable source in case anyone has doubts. I'm fairly sure Odom's going back myself.

damn the top teams are stacked
no chance we make the playoffs..

    east:
boston: Wallace, KG, Pierce, Allen, Rondo
    Orlando: Howard, Lewis, Carter, Nelson
    Cleavland: Lebron, Shaq, Williams

    West:
Lakers: Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Odom, Artest
Spurs: Parker, Ginolbi, Duncan, Jefferson, Gooden/McDyess
Mavs: Kidd, Nowitzki, J Howard, Terry, Marion

I think those are the top six talent wise in the league..
Of course out west you also have
    Blazers, Nuggets, Hornets, Utah

I think those 7 teams will most likely make the playoffs.. leaving us with the last spot possibly..

in any case it kinda sucks how last year we were the best team in Texas and now we are the worst just after on year..

while i believe Odom will be back in LA I will reserve any gloom and doom of an impending laker dynasty until he has officially signed with the team.

turk pulled a fast one on portland and if anything odom has been going back and forth all summer long with contract negotiations, there were rumors in the past weeks that he has signed with la that ended up false.

either way it wasnt like the rockets posed any threat to LA this upcoming season

The Mavs team looks weaker than the Blazers.

    I agree.

NO WAY the Mavs (team in decline) stack up against the Blazers. (team on the rise.)

No playoffs this year for the Rockets. Just gotta sit back & wait. :(

Tell me so when the Mavs just added Shawn Marion and Drew Gooden to the mix?

its unfortunate that this season's gonna be lots of fun to watch, but i dont know how fun it'll be watching the Rockets. Hopefully they put up 100+ so it would at least be entertaining.

Mavs traded for Marion last month.
They signed Drew Gooden as a free agent just a few days ago.

None of this is true. Wade is still courting Odom and Sources say that if the Lakers dont up their deal Odom still signs with Miami if LA does nothing.

Hmmm... according to one of the shows on espn earlier today whether or not he did sign the prior offer was off the table and if he was going to sign it would be for less and he is trying to wait it out to see if they are willing to raise it.....

Trade them She-Mac and Scola for Wade and Haslem.

Everyone that's high on Dallas does realize that it's not 2004 anymore, right?

Lakers & Spurs at the top in the West. Everyone else is fighting for third at best.

Agreed. People are too high on Dallas it seems. Portland is the third best team in the West in my opinion.

yeah I need to add Portland to the mix after they just also added Andre Miller..
The mavs do look pretty good on paper too.. As much as I hate the mavs they have a pretty decent team that can compete..
we will probably miss the playoffs next season.. or fight for the last spot

who knows where the injury bug strikes next
They surely look good on paper. I would like to watch them playing until I draw a conclusion.
