A Justice League Unlimited marathon on Boomerang has inspired this thread. They've really left no genre or personality out of this one. It's a good list, all in all, but I've got a few gripes. For example, Darth Vader is the greatest bad guy ever conceived, and anyone who disagrees deserves to be Force-choked. I can hear arguments on this, but for him to not even be in the top three is just insane. Also, Cobra Commander, Megatron, and Gollum should be WAY higher, imo. And no Ivan Drago AT ALL? Srsly? He's gotta beat out Mr. Joshua, at least.

I've had a hard time finding an official link....near as I can tell this was printed in the actual magazine and not from their website. Credit of course goes to the folks at Wizard, but I copied the list from here.

A magazine called Wizard and no mention of Voldemort? Awful.

I take any opportunity possible to say this: The Operative from Serenity (Chiwetel Ejiofor) was one of my favorite bad guys.

T-1000 but not the orignal Terminator?

Man I didn't even catch this one. Arnies Terminator was definitely a classic and should have been included. Voldemort as well, and I've only seen one of the Potter movies and read none of the books. If you've barely seen the source material, yet are aware of a given bad guy, then said bad guy should probably be on a list of bad guys.

Magneto is too low! Lex Luthor is way too high. What's his deal anyways?

Lists like this are always worthless unless they express what type of criteria they used when ranking them.

Having said that, Darth Vader should be in the top 10 (at least) regardless of what type of criteria is being used.

Ummm... maybe he's not #1, but they put Sephiroth at #96? Come on!

I think Sephiroth and Stewie Griffin should fight it out. Whoever wins gets #95.

    And where's Griffith from Berserk?

Joker's #1 to make up for the fact that they put Wolverine as the top comic book character of all-time and not the Caped Crusader.

This lists capitalizes off the feelings generated about the Joker after the Dark Knight.

Can't agree with that. Joker is well established as an iconic villain. He's one of the few bad guys who is, imo, on any top five list of baddies. He'd probably be my #2 behind Vader.
