Not to burst your bubble, but have you checked out prices on TV lately? They are pretty low and people can get a new 1080p maybe slightly smaller (32-40") for a couple hundred more thats more of a name brand. I'm not saying its not a good TV, but price is slightly high for a 1080i. If you don't sell it, you may need to lower the price by $100 or more.
I did check the price that a used Olevia is going for, and I am offering mine for $100 less than the fair value of a used one so I don't believe its a bit high...
Dude...put it up on Craigslist ASAP. If you want $500 for it, list it at $575 and I promise you will get like 20 calls or emails about it offering $500. Easiest way to sell electronics, and the electronics hounds that peruse craigslist LOVE getting a lower price than what you list. It will sell within 24 hours and you can meet up to get rid of it locally
i would go craigslist if you want it that high. i could buy a brand new 42inch samsung plasma at frys for $599 for a lower end brand you are trying to sell *they don't make olevia anymore*, I would say go for $300-$400
craigslist, amigo. trust me. used it 3 times to sell electronics and they all sold within 3 hours and the people met me at the office
I had the same dilimma about a few months ago, i have a 40" sony bravia 1080p and i wanted to sell mine for like $600 or something, everyone wanted me to lower it to about $400 - 500, i ended up not selling it. Truth is the cost of tvs have gone down dramtically, I bought mine for $1300 just 1 year ago around this time and now something like that sells brand new for like $700. As far as craigslist goes, beware of potential buyers who offer to buy your produce site un seen, it is usually a scam, 8 out of 10 responses i got about my tv were these scam artist.
I don't blame you for trying to sell your t.v since you see all these 40"+ 1080P for around $500+. I bought the exact same T.V you have back in 2007 and now I kind of regret not waiting. Your not going to get close to what the actual value of what is worth. At this point its best to just keep it or if you really want to sell it, then I don't see anyone paying more than $300 for your model.
To Those That Have Written Me On the Olevia TV: Let me start by saying TY for replying, showing interest in the TV... With that being said and out of the way... I AM NOT SELLING MY TV FOR $300, $350, OR LESS! $500 IS MY OFFER! I am not going any lesser than that... So if you are INTERESTED and willing to PAY $500 or UP, please send me an e-mail... Dude, you aren't going to sell an LCD TV for even close to 60% original price on this message board. Electronics depreciate at an alarming rate. That TV is worth 350-400 tops on the secondary market. 1080p is the standard now, and the contrast ratio on that thing is substandard. As others have suggested, see if you can get a sucker on the craiglist.
