A Rockets team without their two best players was the only team that took the Lakers to their limit. Not Orlando, not Denver, it was us !! I don't buy all that crap about them not trying hard, our defense prevented them from scoring , PERIOD !! Man, how close is this team? Do we dare tinker with this potential Lottery pick we are trying to acquire? This Rockets team is close, and we need to find a wing who can be a closer. If getting rid of Artest somehow lands us James Harden, I think we beat the Lakers

the result shows how insightful JVG is in basketball.
he predicted us to give the lakers the toughest series, which turned out to be true.
also, he predicted us to blow out the Blazers, which was also true!
it simply makes the other "experts" look terribly bad.

If there was ever a second place trophy in the NBA, the Houston Rockets would get it. JVG was right, the winner of the Rockets/Lakers series would win the championship

The lakers count rings and we count moral victories That's why they have rebuilt in 4 yrs while the rox have had 3 top ten picks since their last rring.

Get over yourself. It's not like Daryl Morey called a press conference to announce this. Fans on a BBS are talking about it. Is it any less valid a topic for discussion than whining about the Battier trade again?

That Gasol give-away by Memphis was the turning point of their so-called rebuilding project. Without that, Kobe might still be whining about wanting to be traded.

Well as much as I love the Rockets I don't think we would have won the Championship without Yao even if we somehow got past the Lakers.

Totally agree. If we somehow made it past the Nuggets and ended up facing the Magic, it'd be very tough to win seeing that Yao was out and he's Dwight's kryptonite.

Ya, I forgot he said that before Yao was injured. I hate thinking what-ifs all the time with our beloved Rockets

We were the 2nd best team in the L this playoffs. Unfortunately that gets you nothing. We still need to upgrade though, namely in size/length.

We were tough but we aren't as close as most of us feel. We either need to get a renewed Tracy Mcgrady or we need to get us another real star to compliment the rest of the team. Ron Artest just doesn't cut it. We still need someone that will make Kobe work offensively and Defensively. We made Kobe sweat on the Offensive end with Battier. But when he had to play defence. Playing defence against Ron Artest was a Joke and the Same goes with Battier. We have our work cut out for us this offseason and Standing still is not an option AT ALL. Get to Work Morey.

I'm not surprised. I think the Jazz fans said it best: we were good enough to actually make the Lakers CARE about our series. I got the feeling that they were pretty much bored laying against everyone else.
