http://www.forbes.com/2009/05/15/win-loss-sports-lifestyle-sports-teams-nfl-mlb.html Pro Sports' Most-Losing Teams Monte Burke, 05.15.09, 05:00 PM EDT The American franchises with the worst historical win-loss records. image In Pictures: Pro Sports' Most-Losing Teams "The taste of defeat has a richness of experience all its own." - Bill Bradley Spoken like a man who hasn't lost much, right? Other than his 2000 Democratic primary defeat to Al Gore, Bradley has been a lifelong winner--first as a Princeton Tiger, then with the New York Knicks, and finally gaining a U.S. Senate seat. A man like that can utter a statement like the one above precisely because he hasn't had much losing experience. ..... But the Clippers franchise isn't even the worst on our list of America's "losingest" teams. The Clippers came in fourth place (maybe the first time the team has finished so high in a contest of any sort). No. 1? Ladies and gentlemen, your Memphis Grizzlies, who have won less than a third of the games they've played in the team's inglorious history. Other losers include the Houston Texans and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Can you put a little effort into this and either summarize the highlights of the article or at least copy the article in the post?
You're b!tching about effort? Click the damn link and read the damn article yourself. Keep your douchery in the D&D.
Lame. They just go by straight all time winning percentages. It it really a shocker that 2 of the top 3 (Texans, Bobcats) are the two newest expansion teams pro sports? Or that 2 other teams on the list aren't even 10 years old (Thrashers, Blue Jackets)?
Stupid article. Categorizing all the teams of every sport based on their winning %. Like stated earlier, a couple of the top ones are the youngest franchises.
Well, the good news is that all it would take would be a winning record this year (quite possible) to make a huge dent in the Texans ranking. At least, definitely propel us ahead of the Clippers.
It said the texans had 3rd worst winning percentage among pro teams. I think forbes deserves some ad views for its efforts.
They forgot to mention the Brooklyn Nets. They haven't won a single game yet. Man, what a sorry franchise.
some of you are being a little sensitive, the texans aren't good even by expansion standards. several reason for that, but the main one is the first regime, especially the front office.
Well what numbers are you looking at? I'm looking at the past two seasons with an 8-8 record, on the cusp of the playoffs. Not great but not bad. They seem to be pretty par for the course as far as expansion teams go. They've had some pretty solid drafts since Kubiak arrived and have one of the better offenses in the league.
I don't need to look at numbers. Give me almost any random 5 guys from this board and we'll do a hell of a better job than the Texans FO has.
A couple of years ago, 5 random guys from this board would have taken either Reggie Bush or Vince Young over Mario Williams.
Nothing less than 10 years old can be considered the worst in sports -- talk to me in about three decades.
