I never could get into his music, but he has a huge following. There are a couple of good songs that I remember.

His classics from the 70's and early 80's are great. The Disney stuff? Not so much.

He kind of reminds me of Phil Collins in that regard. And Billy Joel for that matter.

Guess that's why they call it the blues is my favorite. One of those songs I have to turn up anytime it's on the radio.

Ok, I'll admit it... Rocketman is awesome.

Billy Joel didn't start the fire though.

    Of course.

I am convinced that anyone who does not like his early stuff just has awful taste.

"Don't Go Breaking My Heart" (with Kiki Dee) is maybe my favorite song ever.

I find it really strange that so many women LOVE Billy Joel. He's like the My Little Pony of singers.

And for the record, I do like Elton John's music from the 1970's... much more than Billy Joel's.

It's kind of funny, but I consider the successful star who married a super model to be significantly less cool than the successful but "flamboyant" star.

I liked 11/17/70 when it came out. Everything since, not so much.

Billy Joel has always sucked, in fact I'll go so far as to proclaim him 'The Worst Pop Star Ever".

Agreed. A powerful song that speaks to the eternal truths of human relationships.

Don't care for him, but his songs make good movie songs like Crocodile Rock (can't remember what movie, but had some cute chick walking in park while song was playing), and Your Song was central to the 2 main characters in Moulin Rouge.

I always thought him and Billy Joel are your quintessential elevator/office music.
