After our HORRIBLE collapse against Dallas today, there's three things we need to address.

1) How the HELL has Adelman not solved Yao's fronting problem, when the PO's are right around the corner?

2) Artest is trash. He's the most bipolar, inconsistent player ever, it seems. One night, you could get the +23 Artest, who gets 20/8/4. Or, you could get the -23 Artest, who gets 10/2/1 on 2/18 shooting.

3) You guys DO realize that if we do beat whoever is 4th or 5th seed (depending on Den/Por game), we'll either face the Jazz or Lakers in the 2nd round?

No news is good news, as my mom used to say.

AND: We are now guaranteed to face the Trail Blazers. As the Spurs have just defeated the Hornets.

It sucks when we're not in control of our fate, we gave up the control by losing to DAL today, now we can only hope Denver beats Portland so we get HCA at least, but that is very unlikely.

Fronting wasn't the problem. OUR problem was we didn't execute,Brooks and Ron failed to stick with the game plan.

We lobbed the ball over the front first half to Yao for dunks.Second half the guards failed to execute to get Yao the basketball.

You can add AB, Wafer and Lowry to the list. They're all scrubs.

Well, Assnoob, if you're lucky we'll lose in the first round again and you won't have to watch thess matchups you dread so much. See? Problem solved!

Ron was fine until the end, when we were trying to come back from 10 down.

Part of the problem is Yao.

Scoly and AB were just horrible...

Everyone is worried about facing the Jazz or the Lakers... look First, Second, Semis or Conference Finals... We gotta face a really good team to get to the NBA Finals so it isnt worth crying over. It is what it is...

We think too much from our point of view, we need to learn to think from other angles so that we will not be so upset after an important game like tonight.

Yao is definitely part of the problem.

Big teams that can guard Yao are tough match-ups for us. There are dumb posters here who just love to be filled with pride, talking about bringing on whoever.

Portland isn't too bad, but the Hornets would have been a guaranteed 2nd round.

the fronting included another guard behind yao....they were putting a tough defense on yao.

my problem is that they (or adelman) didn't call for a pick and roll using yao to block late in the game. they did the p/r early in the first half and yao was getting some easy outside jumpers. they should have ran more plays like this. p/r also allows guards to penetrate to the hoop and dish to the big man for the dunk. very poor predictable offense in the end for the rockets.

also, dirk was killing the rox. adelman should have used hayes more. scola was getting torched and landry was getting shot over in the last qr. hayes always frustrates.

finally, was wasn't there a swith for ron or battier to guard terry to mix things up. lowry was getting killed!!!

No one is a scrub on any NBA team. People in the NBA can all ball.

And again, I'm not saying the Rockets are going to lose in any fashion. In fact, I really think they can get past the Trail Blazers w/o HCA in 5, or in 4, if we HAVE HCA.

The thing I am worried about the most is the 2nd round. Because both opponent's have had the Rocket's numbers this, and past seasons.

Where are all the thread starters that wanted us to tank a game and lose to Dallas or NO to face a certain team? Where is their logic now?

Their threads were not the reason we lost, but I don't see them now posting how happy they are the we lost this game today.

So are we supposed to tank the first round to avoid the Lakers or Jazz?

Too bad we couldn't face the Clippers in the first round, isn't it? That way we'd be assured of a second round even if we play like sh!t.

Seriously, why all the bitching and moaning about matchups? This isn't the NFL -- if you can't figure out a way to beat a team 4 times in up to 7 games, you don't DESERVE to move forward.
